Overview:

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Account Management is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing key client relationships, driving retention and growth, and ensuring exceptional delivery of Uprise Health’s services. This role provides executive‑level stewardship of major accounts, leads a high‑performing team of account managers, and partners cross‑functionally to advance organizational goals. The AVP possesses excellent planning and leadership skills to coordinate and advise account managers, clients and executives.  The goal is to ensure the company’s retention and growth of clientele.

This role is accountable for overall Net Revenue Retention (NRR) across the Account Management team and for driving disciplined renewal and expansion strategies. The AVP establishes structured performance standards for the Account Management team to ensure consistent execution, proactive client engagement, and measurable revenue impact.

Annual Salary Range: $150K - $160K + Commission Plan. 30% - 35% Travel Required for this role. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Client Leadership & Strategic Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary executive-level Account Manager for key clients, ensuring long-term satisfaction, retention, and strategic alignment.
  • Negotiate complex contracts and renewals with key clients while meeting established timelines and supporting the achievement of long-term client objectives.
  • Drive structured renewal planning processes, including early risk identification and renewal forecasting accuracy
  • Establish account health metrics to proactively mitigate churn risk
  • Elevate QBRs and executive reviews from performance reporting to forward-looking strategic planning discussions
  • Deliver high-impact presentations to internal and external executive teams, effectively conveying strategic insights, performance outcomes, and partnership opportunities.
  • Maintain responsibility for all client communications and the timely, accurate delivery of client-facing materials, reports, and commitments.
  • Proactively anticipate client concerns, escalate and resolve issues, and identify opportunities to introduce enhanced solutions or new products.
  • Lead the development of accurate and timely reports related to marketing and service goals as part of tailored Strategic Account Plans (SAP)
Marketing, Growth & Business Development
  • Strengthen and grow existing accounts by marketing Uprise Health programs and solutions to health plans, employers, and brokers.
  • Drive account maximization efforts, including onsite or virtual client engagements such as QBRs, strategic planning sessions, end-of-year aggregate reporting, and program performance reviews.
  • Partner with Sales to align renewal strategy, pricing discussions, and expansion initiatives
  • Maintain accurate renewal and expansion forecasting for executive revenue planning
  • Hold Account Managers accountable for identifying and advancing expansion opportunities within existing accounts
  • Identify business development opportunities within the existing book of business and convert them into long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Support the creation and execution of tailored Strategic Account Plans (SAPs), including accurate and timely reporting of marketing, utilization, and service metrics.
  • Provide market feedback to inform strategic and product planning for the organization.
  • Coordinate market testing of product concepts and pricing sensitivity with existing clients and pilot programs.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Define and enforce strategic account management standards, including communication cadence, QBR structure, and renewal workflows
  • Establish KPIs tied to retention rate, expansion revenue, client satisfaction, and responsiveness
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Account Managers, supporting skill growth, career development, and high performance.
  • Guide the team in mitigating client risk, identifying upsell and expansion opportunities, and maintaining exceptional service quality.
  • Establish and track team goals that align with Uprise Health’s account management strategy; provide ongoing coaching and formal performance evaluations using key metrics.
  • Report quarterly and annual outcomes, progress, and team performance to senior management.
  • Provide leadership and timely feedback to enable team to meet/exceed quotas and objectives
  • Conduct performance evaluations using key metrics
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as executive oversight for high-risk client escalations, ensuring coordinated resolution and revenue protection
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments—clinical teams, call center operations, marketing, product, and administration—to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services and client commitments.
  • Participate in cross-functional committees focused on marketing, operations, and service oversight to support organizational excellence and continuous improvement.
Risk Mitigation & Market Awareness
  • Monitor national, regional, and state-level developments that may affect clients or populations served; proactively develop strategies to address client needs and offer timely support.
  • Ensure that communication between Uprise Health and clients is consistent, transparent, and aligned to manage expectations and drive project success.
Essential Education and Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Director, Account Management
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and metrics
  • Solid understanding of leading a team to meet/exceed quotas and reporting on progress
  • Proven experience in exceeding sales quotas in selling into current accounts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional etiquette
  • High accuracy in work, strong attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills, especially MS Office and ability to work with Internet based programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Adaptability and strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others within the company and externally
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively as an individual and to effectively assist others in meeting team goals
  • Ability to analyze data and produce required reports and analyses using appropriate software programs
  • Willingness to travel regionally and to attend meetings and/or conferences as requested
  • Must represent the company in a professional manner
  • Punctuality and good attendance expected
  • Strong Presentation skills and comfort in speaking to/with all levels of an organization

Uprise Budgeted Pay Range
