The Automation Solution Consultant – Advanced Control (ASC-AC) is a strategic, customer facing Sales role focused on promoting and driving the adoption of OMRON’s Advanced Control solutions within OMRON Automation Americas (OAA). This position involves a deep understanding of PLC / HMI’s and Advanced Motion with effective communication skills, and the ability to align customer needs with innovative Advanced Control solutions. The customer-facing ASC-AC collaborates with the entire OAA sales teams engaging daily with customers, application engineers as well as product marketing. They will be responsible for the overall Advanced Control Sales targets within their assigned accounts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive business growth for their assigned technology – responsible for technology revenue goals for their accounts.
- Engage with customers to understand their unique challenges, requirements, and business objectives.
- Build strong relationships with customer’s key stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Act as a passionate advocate for OMRON’s Advanced Control technologies, emphasizing their benefits and applications in customer-facing scenarios.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in PLC / HMI and Advanced Motion and related technologies.
- Work independently at assigned accounts but also as an advisor to the broader industry focused sales teams to integrate solutions into sales strategies and proposals.
- Provide technical expertise during the sales process to address customer inquiries.
- Effectively communicate the value proposition of OMRON’s Advanced Control solutions to customers leveraging the OMRON customer focused selling framework.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify opportunities where Advanced Control solutions can address customer pain points and enhance business operations.
- Collaborate with customers and field technical teams to design and implement pilot programs or proof-of-concept projects for OMRON’s Advanced Control product portfolio.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field preferred but not required.
- Experience: Five (5) years of proven experience in sales or customer-facing roles with a focus on Advanced Control In-depth knowledge of PLC / HMI and Advanced Motion technologies and their applications.
- Sales experience with some or all of the following products: Robotics, Motion Control (Servos, Drives, Controllers and Motors), PLC/HMI (hardware, software and interfaces), Components (Sensors, Relays and Switches), Safety (Light Curtains, Controllers, Sensors and E-Stops), Machine Vision Systems, and Auto ID (Barcode and RFID).
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to drive customer adoption of innovative technologies.
- Self-aware and capable to understand impacts of decisions within the organization.
- Can project technical trends and willingness to make changes as necessary.
- Ability to inspire and coach a diverse Engineering team.
- Strong believer, understanding, and advocate of the consultative solution-selling process.
- Strong leader, able to drive innovation and influence a team while aligning and executing the sales strategy.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Ability to speak French fluently is preferred
The annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $130,000 a year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus program. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
