The TJX Companies, Inc. is seeking an Attorney, Commercial Transactions, to join a well-established, high volume, expanding practice area within the TJX Legal Department supporting a wide variety of contracts for many business functions, including IT, marketing, logistics, finance, human resources and e-commerce. This newly added position requires good judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to partner and advise across our business functions. This is an excellent opportunity to be a member of a sophisticated and collegial legal department supporting complex, global operations. It is a hybrid position based in our Framingham, MA offices.
What You Will Do:
- Draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, and advise TJX’s internal business clients on commercial transactions, focusing on contractual matters.
- Closely collaborate with internal clients and cross-functional teams to understand relevant business objectives and identify, communicate and address risks appropriately.
- Streamline and drive efficiency in contract review and completion by creating and maintaining form agreements and other processes, as appropriate.
- Support special projects as requested.
Who We Are Looking For:
- 2-4 years of experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
- Excellent drafting and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect and develop positive relationships with a variety of internal clients and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in identifying multi-disciplinary legal and business issues, analyzing risks and effectively negotiating solutions that minimize risk while achieving business goals.
- Ability to negotiate with third parties effectively and efficiently.
- Comfort balancing a multitude of matters simultaneously and efficiently in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
- Creative thinker who can initiate and develop alternative resolution approaches to complex issues.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts or eligible for Massachusetts In-House Counsel Registration.
