The Software Automation Engineer manages the setup and maintenance of loan programs in PriceMyLoan, automates guidelines, assists clients, and resolves issues.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Software Automation Engineer is an entry level role who will report to the Software Automation Manager. They are primarily responsible for the setup and maintenance of loan programs used within the Product Pricing Engine (PriceMyLoan). The Software Automation Engineer will be given additional responsibilities and tackle increasingly complex tasks as they progress in the team and obtain technical and mortgage expertise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Build, test, and maintain both new and existing loan programs within PriceMyLoan
-Automate investor guidelines and rate sheet adjustments into eligibility and pricing rules to be processed by PriceMyLoan.
-Assist clients with system configuration and custom pricing/eligibility requests.
-Investigate issues reported by clients and apply fixes or escalate issues to senior members of the team.
-Field inquiries regarding software behavior and utilize knowledge to prescribe best-practice solutions.
-Monitor email/web download error logs and update system automation.
-Determine client business needs and create workflow rules to define and restrict user privileges within the Loan Origination System.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Obtain basic knowledge of the various roles in the mortgage industry (processor, underwriters, etc.) and what they are responsible for
-Obtain a basic understanding of the life of a loan and how workflow and the PML engine interact with other loan processes (ex: Fee Services, task system, QM)
-Delivery of low to medium complexity builds
-Possess understanding of what type of PML requests can and cannot be implemented and recommend alternative options to clients
-Able to explain complex technical concepts to clients via emails and tickets
QUALIFICATIONS:
A successful candidate will think logically and enjoy problem solving. We are looking for an individual who possesses strong written and oral communication skills, can express themselves concisely, and enjoys working with clients. An ideal candidate is self-directed and capable of working with minimal supervision in a team environment, can also be coached, and is motivated to continually learn and improve themselves.
Preferred:
-Experience in the mortgage industry
-Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Math, Business, Economics, STEM or equivalent
-GPA of 3.0 or higher

Salary range of $55,000 - $75,200. [It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range.] The actual salary will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law including geographical location.
