The Boeing Company is looking for an Associate Simulation Software Engineer to join the Training Systems team in Jacksonville, FL. This role will support a proprietary program as well as other platforms in the Government Vehicle Health Management System (GVHMS) portfolio within the Boeing Global Services (BGS) organization.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design, development, manufacture, and maintenance of advanced training devices for a wide range of commercial and military aircraft, including F-15 fighter jets, Apache attack helicopters, and P8-A aircraft. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Supports the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, simulation visualizations, virtual environments/platforms and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware systems throughout the entire product lifecycle
  • Supports partnership with stakeholders to review and identify simulation requirements and dynamics of the systems being simulated
  • Supports designing, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities
  • Contributes to data collection and processing for use in simulations
  • Supports with validation, verification, and refinement of simulation software code, models, simulations, test procedures and test environments, executing test procedures and documenting test results and modeling against real-world data, test data, benchmarks, or other similar models
  • Contributes to documenting and maintaining technical code, algorithms, specifications and descriptions of simulation models
  • Supports partnership with cross functional engineering teams to enable integration of simulation software with hardware devices and systems
  • Supports implementing current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and methods in the software engineering simulation environment
  • Supports modernizing, migrating, sustaining, and updating simulation software to adapt legacy systems to new operating systems
  • Contributes to simulation software project management functions

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor Degree
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • 2+ years of experience with software development utilizing Java, C++ or C#
  • 2+ years of experience developing and deploying software programs
  • 2+ years of professional experience writing and testing code

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 2+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of directly related work experience OR 10+ years of related, relevant experience
  • Unity3D development experience
  • Virtual Maintenance Training experience
  • Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $99,450 - $134,550
Potential signing bonus for eligible/qualified external candidates.
