Job Scope:

This qualified and motivated Associate Scientist will join a dynamic R&D team to support the development of novel assays.  This individual will join a team to help plan, design, and conduct advanced studies. He or she will anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical problems.  He or she will act as independent contributor or interact/coordinate with other groups and functions on project development and improvement.  The candidate will analyze data from experiments, formulates conclusions and determines future experiments.  The successful candidate must have strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete internal projects, technical investigations, and support activities with lab setup with minimal oversight.
  • Product Development lifecycle: Complete internal projects, investigations, literature reviews, and technical support activities with minimal oversight across R&D projects.
  • Product and Process Improvements: Investigates and supports in addressing process improvements in NPI lifecycle. Builds and maintains awareness of industry regulatory standards.
  • Design control and risk management: Under direction, develops and maintains Design History File and risk management files.
  • Technical Documentation: Draft and submit defined procedures, protocols in collaboration with the sites to perform testing and data analysis in support of product development lifecycle and root cause investigations.
  • Sharing Knowledge: Prepares reports and may deliver presentations to internal IDEM groups. Shares knowledge and expertise with others in work group.
  • Center of Excellence R&D lab set-up: Author standard operating procedures, Lab equipment procurement and purchase co-ordination, laboratory equipment and maintenance documentation, generate MSDS reference library and appropriate procedures
  • Maintain a high level of professional expertise by staying current with scientific and industry literature, technologies and products.  Develop and maintain internal customer contacts to maintain technical knowledge as required to accomplish objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • Willing to learn, understand and train in design and optimization of serological diagnostic tests
  • Willing to take on new and challenging assignments and to implement new ideas or alternative solutions.
  • Capable of adjusting to dynamic working environment and changing priorities, and of ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Understands statistical analysis.

Education:

  • Requirements: Higher Certificate, Ordinary or Honors Bachelor’s Degree in scientific and technical field is desired or relevant combination of education and experience.
  • 0-2 years’ related work experience
