Work Location Assignment: On Premise
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $66,500.00 to $110,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary. - Scale-up and development of Pilot Plant processes for non-GMP production.
- Generation of process batch records.
- Acquisition of raw materials.
- Purchase, installation, and start-up of new capital equipment.
- Mining and evaluation of process data, modeling, and generation of reports to support manufacturing scale-up.
- Training development personnel for safe and effective operations in the Pilot Plant.
- Conducting process safety assessments.
- Collaborate on experimental studies and clinical manufacturing.
- Contribute to internally reviewed technical reports.
- Make presentations to scientists and management.
- Execute operational efficiency improvements.
- Plan and implement improvements across Bioprocess R&D work processes.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- BS or MS degree with 0+ years' experience in a biological or engineering discipline, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Demonstrated capability to work as a team member in a matrix development team.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision. Applicants must be organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently, and in a collaborative environment.

- Dedication to maintaining and operating in a safe work environment.
- Thorough knowledge of Biological Pilot Plant operations including mammalian cell culture, process chromatography, ultrafiltration, and filtration and an understanding of how to scale and control these processes is needed.
- Strong understanding of core principles of biotechnology, process equipment, process control, engineering concepts, material management and a broad understanding of Pharmaceutical industry practices.
Nice-to-Have
- Prior experience in a Biological Pilot Plant or Commercial Manufacturing setting.
- Experience transferring biologics processes to pilot plants or manufacturing organizations, and knowledge of computerized and automated control systems, and data acquisition in these environments
- Prior experience in process equipment commissioning and preparation of cGMP or GLP documentation is preferred.
- Understanding of continuous improvement tools (LEAN/Six Sigma, 5S, etc) Must be capable of generating documents utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
