Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) Organization is seeking an Associate Liaison Engineer to focus on the area of Production Review in Tukwila, WA.
We are looking for proactive individuals who can make quick engineering decisions that can go beyond their desks and into the factory for hands-on engineering. This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, partnering closely with production personnel. The ideal candidate will apply engineering principles to assess and resolve product/process aircraft issues through the product/aircraft lifecycle. They will analyze, conduct root cause analysis, and develop dispositions for design non-conformances. They will also identify, document, and communicate deviations that could impact design intent and safety as well as develop and implement product/process improvements.
We are seeking candidates who are able to work variable shifts; the candidate may be assigned a rotation to cover first, second, or third shift as well as weekend or daily overtime and holidays as required to support production. This requirement varies at each support location in the factory and is typically covered on a rotation basis as required. This position involves daily exposure to factory environment which includes stairs, trip hazards, high noise areas, chemical hazards (breathing and handling), and entering airplanes during their many stages of build.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Applies basic knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles to develop interim or final engineering solutions to product/process issues throughout production and/or for technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.
  • Analyzes, conducts failure analysis, root cause analysis, and troubleshoots to understand root cause.
  • Provides assistance to identify solutions.
  • Provides written dispositions for routine design non-conformances.
  • Supports activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety and product/process improvements.
  • Develops routine customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Participates in Material Review Boards (MRBs) and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Ensures that supplier and build partner comply with Boeing standards.
  • Represents the engineering community in the build through post-production environment.
  • Recommends simple, non-destructive test procedures, tools, and standards.
  • Conducts simple static strength analysis to validate interim design repairs meet original design loads criteria.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime. Some positions may also be rotating shifts.

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and able to collaborate effectively to provide a sound engineering Solution.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $90,950 - $123,050
