POSITION SUMMARY:

KKR Insurance/ Global Atlantic is seeking a candidate to support reinsurance and statutory investment accounting and reporting for assets ceded to internal and external reinsurers, prepare analysis to support audited financials, and support the implementation of new deals. This position will also support cross functional initiatives related to process enhancements and redesign related to achieving concurrent and consistent delivery of investment results across multiple basis.  The role will offer exposure to multiple levels of management and GA functions, including Finance / Controllers, IT, Bermuda Finance and Investment Operations.  All candidates must, in addition to possessing the specific qualifications cited below, work well within a complex, fast-paced, fluid environment, and strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for monthly reporting across multiple legal entities and reporting blocks.
  • Manage new deal setup, including establishing product codes, reconciling new assets, and ensuring integration into all departmental processes.
  • Perform close procedures, including analyzing results under both U.S. GAAP and statutory reporting standards.
  • Work closely with the reinsurance accounting and Bermuda finance teams on investment data and analytics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including auditors, to support requests and conduct periodic investment monitoring.
  • Prepare and review month-end and quarter-end journal entries related to reinsurance and U.S. statutory investment accounting.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and assist with special projects as needed.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Investment accounting background
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA a plus
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience.  
  • Public Accounting experience a plus.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting principles
  • Familiarity with complex transactions, including reinsurance
  • Familiarity with investment accounting systems.     
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Excel.
  • Pro-active, detail oriented, deadline driven; possess excellent documentation and analysis skills.
  • Results oriented, flexible, self-motivated, and able to work in a team environment with limited direct supervision.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to successfully handle competing priorities and multiple deliverables.

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office. 

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives. 

The base salary range for this position is $130,000-$150,000.
