The Associate Ingredient Scientist will operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional setting to develop precise ingredient specifications and gather essential documents to ensure all ingredients comply with the required FDA standards.


Requirements

Position Accountabilities:

1. Gain a fundamental understanding of raw materials and their uses in beverage production.

2. Lead initiatives related to ingredients, including updates to new supplier requirements, cost reduction efforts, supply concerns, or manufacturing challenges.

3. Provide training to cross-functional teams as necessary.

4. Adhere to SOPs and accurately input the required ingredient data into the database.

5. Keep precise and detailed laboratory records when ingredients are analyzed internally.

6. Collaborate effectively with Product Development and other R&D departments such as Sensory, Ingredients, Nutrition, Regulatory, Flavor Technology, Process Engineering, Chemistry, and Microbiology.

7. Work cross-functionally with departments outside of R&D, including Quality and Procurement teams.

8. Create and update SOPs and training materials relevant to the job responsibilities as needed.

9. Communicate promptly and efficiently with vendors to obtain necessary documentation.

2. Capability to lead, monitor, and follow up on projects with a problem-solving approach, and to present results to leadership.

3. High level of attention to detail regarding ingredient specifications and associated technical data.

4. Flexibility to adapt to shifting business needs, priorities, and additional tasks as required.

5. Self-driven and able to manage workload according to priorities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline.

• 1-3 years of relevant experience in food or beverage sectors such as R&D, Quality, or consumer packaged goods internships.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
