Associate General Counsel, Litigation Attorney

Manage a nationwide caseload, supervise outside counsel, provide legal advice, handle complaints, and conduct legal research. Must have strong communication skills and 4+ years of litigation experience.
Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week

This role sits within the Office of General Counsel and reports to the Head of the Litigation Practice Group.
What You'll Do: • Manage large diverse nationwide caseload of matters, including supervision of outside counsel and analyzing legal and factual issues• Interface with clients in business areas keeping them advised of developments and status of all matters; Provide legal advice to all sections of the Company regarding pre-litigation and litigation matters• Work with Complaint Review Unit in response to customer complaints• Advise Claims Department regarding pending policy claims• Perform legal research and write memoranda• Gather facts from multiple sources• Maintain and monitor budgets and update matter management system• Work on special projects as they arise• Consult with other sections of OGC and with Litigation management as necessary
What You'll Bring: • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in litigation in law firm and/or corporate law department• Excellent written and oral communication skills• Ability to see the big picture• Organized and able to prioritize• Admitted to the New York Bar• JD Required
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $180,500-$258,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
