The Wealth Planning Group demonstrates to our clients that Pathstone understands wealth planning to be both a technical and human endeavor in service to the client’s preferred life. The team communicates advanced estate strategies, structures, and analyses in clear, client-friendly language for clients, typically with at least $25 million in AUM, and presents recommendations, illustrations, and deliverables in client and prospect meetings alongside Advisory teams.
They collaborate cross-functionally with Advisors, investment teams, and other professional services departments to deliver integrated, holistic wealth strategies. They build and maintain strong relationships with external professionals, including attorneys and tax advisors, to support effective execution of client strategies.
Job Description: The Associate Director, Wealth Planning is a key role in providing and maintaining the technical expertise and qualitative sensitivities that the Wealth Planning Group has historically provided in coordinating our clients’ overall estate, philanthropic, and income tax planning. This role will collaborate with WPG team members and members of the Advisory team to execute on same.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Advisors nationwide to build and deepen relationships with ultra-high-net worth clients and prospects by providing guidance on wealth transfer strategies.
- Assist in designing, evaluating, and implementing multi-year wealth transfer strategies tailored to client objectives, clearly comparing alternative advanced planning options and communicating associated tradeoffs to support informed client decision-making.
- Help clients understand the human impact of wealth transfer strategies and advocate for their qualitative goals throughout the planning process.
- Participate in Family Office Services strategy discussions and internal client planning meetings.
- Support strategy recommendations requiring coordination across internal teams and external professionals, including CPAs and attorneys, and facilitate implementation through completion.
- Be available for in-person client, prospect, and firm initiatives as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external professionals, including attorneys and tax advisors, to support effective execution of client strategies.
- Perform additional related duties as needed to support business development, client retention, and firm growth objectives.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Juris doctorate.
- 2+ years’ experience, preferably in a legal, tax, or wealth management environment.
- Great attention to detail, with the ability to see the “big picture.”
- Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Integrity and confidentiality at the highest level.
- Ability to work independently, be flexible, and adapt to changing circumstances.
Pay Transparency: Pathstone’s expected starting base compensation range for the position as of the time of this posting is $110,000 - $113,000 per year. The actual base compensation selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) experience, education, specialty and training. The successful candidate(s) may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus award.
