Associate Director, Transformation & Organizational Enablement – Business Insights & Operations (BI&O)
About This Role:
As the Associate Director, Transformation & Organizational Enablement in Business Insights & Operations (BI&O), you will play an execution-focused role in translating BI&O’s functional roadmaps into measurable behavior change across Biogen North America’s largest organization. This position is pivotal in evolving BI&O's operating model while strengthening its partnerships with Therapeutic Areas (TAs) and functional commercial leaders, such as Omnichannel and Decision Sciences. Sitting at the intersection of strategy, program execution, and narrative leadership, you will ensure BI&O is prepared to support upcoming therapeutic area launches. By aligning teams with new operational strategies and decision frameworks, you will help drive the successful adoption of transformation initiatives. Reporting to BI&O Strategy and Operations leadership, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to maintain momentum and coherence throughout the transformation journey.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and execute change strategy plans for BI&O’s operating model and TA engagement.
- Translate strategic roadmaps into clear “from/to” shifts in roles and decision rights.
- Conduct stakeholder analysis and assess change impacts, identifying adoption barriers.
- Apply change management practices to drive alignment and reinforce adoption.
- Design and facilitate working sessions to establish new ways of working.
- Create enablement assets like playbooks and leader talking points to accelerate adoption.
- Lead the development of BI&O’s change management communications strategy.
- Craft BI&O’s transformation narrative and ensure consistent messaging.
- Develop executive-ready storytelling materials and strategic communications.
- Drive clarity on decision rights and accountability as BI&O evolves.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment workshops to resolve friction points.
- Support BI&O’s culture and community-building initiatives.
- Track progress and adoption using scorecards and qualitative/quantitative indicators.
- Partner with leaders to ensure organizational readiness for upcoming launches.
Who You Are:
You are proactive and thrive in ambiguity, possessing the ability to build momentum across a matrixed organization. Your strong communication skills allow you to create compelling narratives and executive-ready materials. You excel at fostering engagement and alignment, ensuring transformation initiatives are effectively adopted. Your high emotional intelligence and stakeholder management abilities enable you to build trust and drive outcomes without direct authority. You are comfortable coordinating forums and logistics while owning strategic substance, making you a key player in driving BI&O’s transformation efforts.
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in change management, communications, transformation, or strategy/operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change for complex initiatives.
- Strong communications capability with a track record of executive-ready narratives.
- Proven ability to drive outcomes in ambiguity and influence without authority.
- High emotional intelligence and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA highly preferred.
- Hybrid expectation: Cambridge, MA - in office ~3 days/week.
Preferred Skills:
- Top-tier strategy consulting experience with meaningful change/transformation exposure.
- Experience in managing cross-functional engagement and governance.
Additional Information
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
