Job Description

The Associate Director will be responsible for accelerating the adoption, effective use, and continuous user improvement of Microsoft 365 products—especially those enhanced by Microsoft Copilot and AI capabilities. They will lead strategic initiatives to enhance productivity, satisfaction, and responsible use of AI-powered desktop tools across the enterprise. This role will drive adoption, optimize user journeys, and ensure seamless integration of Microsoft technologies into daily workflows—empowering employees while aligning with governance, compliance, privacy, and security standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

Strategic Enablement: Lead cross-functional efforts to embed Microsoft 365, Copilot, and AI capabilities into business processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and user needs. Define and execute a roadmap for Microsoft 365 and Copilot adoption across the enterprise.

User Experience Design: Define and continuously improve the end-to-end user experience across Microsoft 365 applications, with a focus on intuitive, efficient, and accessible design.

Adoption & Change Management: Oversee onboarding, training, and communication strategies to drive adoption and responsible use of AI tools, including Copilot

Governance & Compliance: Partner with DTE teams, Legal, Privacy, and Information Security to ensure M365 and Copilot usage complies with data privacy, security, and responsible AI principles. Develop, document, and effectively communicate policies, guidance, and best practices regarding data access and sharing.

Feedback & Insights: Establish feedback loops and usage analytics to inform iterative improvements and measure impact using tools like Viva Insights, Avepoint, and Copilot dashboards. Serve as the primary liaison for feedback loops between users, DTE, and Microsoft.

Innovation Leadership: Stay ahead of emerging trends in GenAI and productivity tools, and translate them into actionable strategies for the organization.

Vendor & Partner Collaboration: Engage with Microsoft and other partners to influence product roadmaps and ensure alignment with enterprise needs.

Enablement & Training: Design and deliver onboarding and training programs tailored to different user personas and business functions. Lead the development of Microsoft GenAI literacy and responsible use training in partnership with Data Sciences, Security, DTE, and Compliance teams.

Change Management & Communication: Drive awareness and engagement through internal campaigns, user communities, and Copilot champions.

Minimum level of education needed:

•  Bachelor’s degree

Required Experience: 

7+ years of experience in digital transformation, user experience, or enterprise technology adoption roles.

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives in a regulated or complex enterprise environment.
  • Experience designing and executing training and change/adoption management programs.

Required Knowledge/Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Copilot, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power Platform.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM technologies, especially Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio and Azure OpenAI integrations.
  • Strong program management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation abilities.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Ability to translate technical capabilities into business value and user-centric narratives.

Pay Range:

$153,600 - $230,400

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Remote-Eligible

Flex Eligibility Status:

In this Remote-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as: 
1.    Remote: work remotely five days per week and come into the office on occasion – you’re always welcome on-site; or select 
2.    Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
3.    On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.

Note: The Flex status for this position is subject to Vertex’s Policy on Flex @ Vertex Program and may be changed at any time.
