Associate Director, Marketing Automation & Customer Data Platform
Job Description
The DTE Marketing Technology team is playing a crucial role in enabling our commercial expansion as Vertex commercializes into new disease areas and brings more transformative medicines to patients around the world.
As the Marketing Automation & Customer Data Platform Lead, you will be responsible for the administration, optimization, and oversight of our Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, Tealium and OneTrust platforms and the overall operations of this function. This is a critical platform function which drives the orchestration of all our digital customer experiences.
As the platform and functional lead, you will be responsible for implementing new capabilities, driving solution architecture, evangelizing platform strengths, and guiding the translation of business requirements into technical deliverables. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of our technical development teams and ensure operational excellence. In addition, you will support acceleration of our digital engagement maturity and advancing AI-powered marketing initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support marketing efforts while ensuring technology solutions comply with legal and privacy guidelines in this highly regulated industry.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as Platform and Functional Lead for Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, Tealium, OneTrust and ancillary platforms, providing innovative oversight and direction of our marketing automation platforms.
- Oversee our Marketing Automation MSP development team throughout the overall software lifecycle, inclusive of platform implementations, operations, enhancements, upgrades, and integrations providing product and functional area expertise and quality assurance, including leading technical design sessions, conducting feature demos and overseeing testing as required.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain a product roadmap of current and future capabilities and support advancement of our digital engagement maturity
- Support budget management and forecasting, inclusive of platform licensing, MSP contracts and portfolio projects within +/-5% of targets.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts and service level agreements to ensure the highest quality of service and support is obtained.
- Develop, measure and maintain performance metrics against accelerated delivery, platform adoption, platform innovation, capability fit, capability/business fit/alignment and business valued delivered.
- Provide education and support to platform adopters ensuring effective and compliant utilization of all Marketing Automation applications
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of marketing automation, email marketing and customer data platforms and their integration with other customer engagement platforms (i.e. CRM)
- Experience developing innovative product roadmaps, educating business stakeholders and driving technology adoption
- Experience working within agile technology operations and deploying enterprise global technology solutions
- Experience developing solution design principals, processes and standards
- Experience leading solution architecture design and the application of solution design to drive innovative digital customer experiences
- Ability to challenge ideas while maintaining collaboration and pragmatism
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple terms
- Ability to communicate business value derived from technology solutions
- Experience deploying AI capabilities within marketing automation technologies
- Ability to stay abreast of industry and technology trends
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to work independently
- Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills
- Experience with design visualization tools like Lucid Chart
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years working in Lifesciences or other heavily regulated industry
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Marketing Automation functions with a focus on email marketing and customer data platforms
- Demonstrated expertise in leveraging AI-powered marketing technologies to drive digital engagement and campaign performance
- Strong technical experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, Tealium CDP or similar enterprise-level applications is required
- Experience guiding solution architecture on marketing automation platforms in heavily regulated industries.
- Experience managing offshore development teams and ensuring delivery excellence
- Strong understanding of the Global Privacy Landscape and global regulatory requirements (e.g.,CAN-SPAM, CCPA, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.)
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Admin Certification Preferred
- Tealium Platform Certification Preferred
Pay Range:
$170,400 - $255,600Disclosure Statement:
The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
