The Associate Director of Leadership Excellence & Customer-Facing Skills reports to the Director of Leadership Excellence & Customer-Facing Skills. This team develops and implements leadership development and customer-facing skills solutions across General Medicines, Vaccines, and Specialty Care. You will work closely with Senior Field leadership, People & Culture, Commercial Training peers, and Global Commercial Training colleagues to understand the needs and gaps to be addressed, ensuring that the customer-facing organization, both leaders and individual contributors, are equipped with the skills and competencies to drive the success of our business.

Critical to this role is providing harmonized solutions while considering necessary customization at the therapeutic and functional level, all in a compliant manner. This position requires a strong background in leadership, project management, adult learning, training, and strategic thinking. You will be responsible for delivering solutions to address known behavioral and skill-based issues to drive performance and business results for both leaders and members of customer-facing teams. The ideal candidate should possess a strong bias towards enterprise leadership, needs-based design and development, proactivity, clear communication, and a tendency towards optimizing solutions in both quality and efficiency.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Actively contributing to the Leadership Excellence & Customer-Facing Skills team with a focus on developing the skills, behaviors, and mindset of customer-facing personnel, both leaders and individual contributors.

  • Partnering with senior leadership to identify, prioritize, and execute skill development for their respective customer-facing teams.

  • Executing training needs to build, revise and implement curriculum to meet changing market demands for customer-facing leadership and individual contributors.

  • Building alliances and partnerships with Senior Leaders and global/local business partners to increase consistency and capability to align strategy and manage change effectively.

  • Partnering with TA leadership team to measure and monitor the impact of training on the business and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Leverage AI technologies as a strategic thought partner to reimagine learning experiences, enhance employee skillsets, and develop cutting-edge training curricula that prepare our workforce for the future of work.

  • Collaborating with other Global partners and functions to identify and leverage existing resources and best practices in developing customer-facing leadership and individual contributors within the organization.

  • Collaborating with the broader Customer Facing Capabilities/Commercial Training team for support in execution of the overall customer-facing leadership and individual contributors’ curriculum.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

About You:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required.
     

Experience

  • 5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a strong foundation in field sales, ideally progressing into field leadership, Learning & Development, or Commercial Training roles.

  • 2+ years of experience as a 1st line leader, preferably in pharmaceuticals.

  • Meaningful experience leading national or home office-based initiatives, ideally training programs, with 3+ years preferred.

  • Demonstrated expertise in leadership development, training design, needs analysis, adult learning principles, AI utilization, and measuring training effectiveness

  • Experience leading without authority in a matrix environment.

  • Preferred experience in having deployed innovative learning solutions for large-scale audiences.

  • Strong facilitation skills and executive presence; ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to develop rapport and credibility with key stakeholders.

  • Supporting AI and IT platforms for delivery and reinforcement

  • Project management with proven delivery of outstanding results.

  • Ability to lead change while achieving business goals and objectives, act for change, challenging continuously the status quo.  

  • Proven track record of strong execution and results.

  • High persistency and resilience.

  • Experience leading and developing diverse teams across multiple functions; Demonstrated leadership ability to drive change within an organization, cultivating support and maximizing contribution from team members

  • Experience of leading a team, preferably working with field sales force and driving talent development of a team

  • Customer-facing transversal skills

  • Performance-based development for key stakeholders and teams

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically

  • Ability to work in a team environment with collaboration across multiple functional areas

  • Ability to leverage networks, to develop people, coach and give feedback, empower people

  • Strong quantitative abilities and experience managing a budget

The salary range for this position is:

$133,500.00 - $192,833.33

All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
