Position Overview:

Prime Medicine is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Head of Contract Management to lead our contract management function. This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of commercial contracts, including drafting, negotiation, execution, compliance monitoring, and renewal. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, legal and commercial acumen, and a track record of optimizing contract processes to support business goals and manage risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Contract Management team, ensuring efficient and compliant contract operations across the organization.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve contract management policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, negotiation, and execution of a wide range of commercial contracts (e.g., MSAs, CDAs, consulting agreements, license agreements, material transfer agreements, clinical trial agreements).
  • Collaborate with Legal, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders to align contract strategies with business objectives.
  • Maintain and enhance centralized contract repository and ensure accurate contract tracking and reporting.
  • Mitigate contractual risk by identifying and addressing legal and business issues in agreements.
  • Monitor compliance with contractual obligations, including service level agreements, milestones, and payment terms.
  • Support audits and due diligence processes by providing contract documentation and analysis.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract management best practices.
  • Stay informed on relevant legal and regulatory developments affecting contractual obligations and risk.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field; JD or equivalent legal qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in contract management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role preferred.
  • Proven experience managing complex agreements in life sciences field.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, negotiation techniques, and risk management.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and tools.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
