About This Role
Associate Director, Global Price & Access will help to develop and execute the global pricing, reimbursement and market access strategy for our future broader Nephrology portfolio. The Associate Director/Senior Manager, Global Price & Access (Pricing and Reimbursement) will be responsible for supporting the ongoing reimbursement/launch preparation in US, EU, and international markets. The individual will help to lead key global P&RS initiatives such as global pricing policy, pricing communications, value proposition and messages, detailed forecast assumptions, global price bands and launch sequence, support strategies with in-depth market research, environmental data & analogs.
Additional focus will be to support LCM activities for nephrology, including providing input to new indication expansion business cases, Phase 3 trials, LTE and biomarker studies. Ability to collaborate with Cross-Functional colleagues, regional and US MAx leads will be imperative to ensure a successful launch across indications/affiliates.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct secondary research determining price levels of existing therapies and payer management, HTA review outcomes for relevant products, and burden of disease to inform price and market access estimates, inform target product profile and clinical trials development program;
- Lead third party abbreviated payer and analog research, integrating product’s value proposition and supporting clinical information, to determine achievable price, including gross to net, and market access for specific (or, across) indication(s), and optimal evidence package and indication sequencing
- Develop pricing, market access, and gross-to-net assumptions for the forecast (SFT) and financial model quantifying the business opportunity as part of the indication(s) commercial evaluation.
- Help to lead the development of Pricing and Reimbursement (P&R) strategies and management of Market Access strategies throughout the life cycle
- Contribute to cross-functional decisions for launch and lifecycle P&R strategies by proposing price/access positions, country price targets, regional price guardrails and launch sequences
- Develop value-driven optimal pricing strategies for markets including value-based contracting, tendering, etc. to ensure market access throughout the life cycle
- Develop and deliver innovative pricing strategies, including contracting/tendering frameworks, risk sharing programs, and portfolio strategies where appropriate;
- Post launch, collaborate with Regional and Local MAx teams to support recurring payer reimbursement reviews and to evaluate country price exceptions to global pricing corridors and policies;
- Develop a productive relationship and integration with other Value & Access functions to seamlessly deliver market access support globally, regionally, and locally;
- Identify environmental issues and long range planning assessments, including expert point of view on P&R system reforms and evolving competitive access landscapes;
- Point of accountability to select PDC indication specific sub-team(s) and Commercial Team(s) for overall pricing and reimbursement strategies within the Nephrology Franchise;
- Provide P&R input into licensing and business development assessments within Nephrology, if required, at appropriate due diligence stages;
- Identification of relevant price benchmarks and price potential in the future nephrology product pipeline in terms of a value proposition as well as the market need compared to existing or upcoming therapeutic alternatives in the respective indications.
- Represent the Biogen Value & Access function externally at P&R and policy related forums to influence and further the science;
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Who You Are
- You are passionate about learning about different diseases and therapeutic areas and enjoy assessing how an asset’s value proposition will be valued and reimbursed at different key strategic markets.
- You are comfortable developing price and access estimates working with limited information and through a rigorous iterative process to understand disease, value proposition, and price opportunity for asset.
- You are comfortable working with a small team, dynamic environment and excited about working on a matrix.
Required Skills:
- Bachelors, Master’s or doctorate in a related economic, scientific, or business discipline.
- 7+ years of relevant pricing and access experience, including a strong understanding of the payer environment globally.
- Experience in developing global payer policy and strategies.
- Demonstrated expertise in pharmaceutical product development or commercialization.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and within short timeframes.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with innovative contracting proposals.
- Knowledge of health technologies assessment and health policy.
- Proven track record of developing therapeutic expertise.

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
