About This Role: As the Associate Director, US Forecasting, you will be a vital member of the Decision Sciences - Forecasting Center of Excellence team, tasked with developing and maintaining precise forecast models for Biogen North America's franchises. Your expertise will drive accurate predictions using both primary and secondary data assets, offering valuable insights for strategic planning and resource allocation across multiple indications. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to gather inputs, socialize outputs, and execute sensitivity and ad hoc analyses. You will empower the business to build objective forecasts and scenarios that enable data-driven decisions, maximizing shareholder value. Reporting to the Senior Director, Forecasting COE, this position offers a blend of analytical, strategic, and operational work, allowing you to engage with stakeholders at various levels to propel business success.

What You'll Do:

  • Own and drive short- and long-term Brand/Market Revenue planning, presenting recommendations to Senior Leadership.

  • Integrate Forecasting and Customer & Market Insights to understand business and market performance.

  • Utilize advanced statistical methods to develop models for short-term and long-term sales forecasts.

  • Conduct ad hoc scenario planning exercises to model potential market changes and business impacts.

  • Partner with various teams to design and interpret demand estimation studies and build forecast models.

  • Collaborate with Brand, Finance, and Global Strategic Forecasting teams on long-range planning for the US.

  • Reconcile external forecast models with internal views in partnership with investor relations.

  • Assess and implement advanced forecasting technologies to enhance precision and timeliness.

  • Lead the creation, maintenance, and evolution of forecasting models.

  • Act as a Project Leader or Manager in critical projects within therapeutic areas.

  • Foster internal community engagement to support new ideas and showcase best practices.

  • Train, mentor, and empower junior staff, nurturing a high-performance team culture.

Who You Are: 

You have a passion for forecasting and are driven by using data and insights to guide key strategic business decisions. You thrive in a cross-functional environment, creating strong collaborations and engaging with leadership. You have a love for learning new therapy areas and are eager to contribute to business growth.

Required Skills:

  • BA/BS required (Preferred in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or HEOR).

  • Minimum of 8 years of strategic consulting experience in Pharma/Biotech/Medical Device industry or relevant experience.

  • Prior experience in strategic forecasting, with at least 4-5 years in Forecasting across therapeutic areas.

  • Deep knowledge of sales conversion cycles and experience with statistical analysis tools.

  • People management experience, with 1 to 2 years managing teams.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skill set, including Excel modeling skills.

  • Ability to drive offshore team and resources to deliver results.

  • Strong project management skills and strategic thinking capabilities.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in rare diseases and launch brands is a plus.

  • Knowledge of analytics or market research in addition to forecasting.

  • Experience with software like Crystal Ball/At Risk for simulations.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $162,000.00-$223,000.00


Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
