The Importance of the Role

The Associate Director, Commercial Business Performance & Insights will play a critical role in helping Sarepta understand how its in-market products are performing and where leadership attention is needed. This person will be responsible for turning complex commercial data into clear, accurate, and actionable insights that support decision-making across the Commercial organization.
Today, much of this work is managed through a detailed Excel-based reporting process. This role will help modernize that approach by partnering with Commercial Analytics, IT, and business stakeholders to move toward more scalable dashboards, automated reporting, and repeatable performance views. In doing so, this person will help create a stronger foundation for how Sarepta monitors performance, identifies trends, and responds to opportunities or risks across the business.
This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys both the detail and the story behind the data. The successful candidate will help ensure leadership is working from accurate information, connect themes across recurring analyses and business reviews, and translate performance signals into practical implications for the organization. The role offers regular exposure to senior commercial leaders and the opportunity to shape how business performance is understood, communicated, and acted upon across Sarepta’s in-market portfolio.
This position resides within the Commercial organization and will report to the Executive Director, Commercial Operations.

The Opportunity to Make a Difference

  • Own the weekly, monthly, and quarterly business performance cadence for Sarepta’s in-market products, including recurring CCO updates, monthly stakeholder reviews, quarterly business reviews, and other leadership forums.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the core business performance model and reporting infrastructure, ensuring recurring metrics, data inputs, calculations, outputs, and executive-facing materials are accurate, current, and clearly documented.
  • Drive the transition from the current Excel-based process to a scalable dashboard/reporting environment by defining business requirements, designing the reporting views and logic, validating outputs, and ensuring the final tools meet the needs of Commercial leadership, in partnership with Commercial Analytics, IT, and cross-functional business owners.
  • Maintain a consistent set of recurring commercial metrics and analyses, including patient flow, treatment progression, and other measures of commercial execution.
  • Monitor performance trends across patient-level, site-level, field, payer, and operational data to identify emerging risks, opportunities, data anomalies, and areas requiring leadership attention.
  • Translate data into clear business implications by connecting themes across recurring analyses, stakeholder discussions, and leadership forums.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, Finance, Commercial Analytics, IT, and other cross-functional teams to resolve data issues, align on performance insights, and support action planning.
  • Prepare executive-ready performance updates, slide materials, and select Board or leadership readouts related to commercial performance.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and performance deep dives to answer priority business questions and support strategic decision-making across the Commercial organization.
  • Provide analytical rigor and critical thinking to commercial decision-making, ensuring leadership discussions are grounded in accurate, defensible data.
  • Other related duties as required.

More about You

  • Bachelor’s degree required with 10+ years of experience; Master's preferred with 8+ years of experience.
  • 8-10 years of experience in biopharma commercial analytics, commercial operations, business insights, finance, or strategy consulting; rare disease, gene therapy, or specialty market experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to work with complex data, identify trends, investigate variances, and synthesize findings into clear business implications.
  • Ability to translate detailed analyses into concise, executive-ready presentations and recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required; experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization tools preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment, including the ability to assess whether data is accurate, complete, and appropriate for leadership use.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical findings clearly to senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment.

What Now?

We’re always looking for solution-oriented, critical thinkers.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
