Position Purpose:
Responsible for providing editorial support to the Editorial department in a variety of capacities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with product development and long-range editorial planning, including concepting new products
- Review, edit, and approve manuscript and production stages, working directly with copyeditors, graphic designers, and photo researchers
- Create, edit, review, and approve slide decks based on style guidelines
- Track programmatic pieces, including learning outcomes, Lexile ranges, writing prompts, student supports, text types, etc.
- Review and evaluate BEC’s new technology products
- Aid in the QA of new digital products
- Complete time tracking documentation on a weekly basis
- Create or update Product Library documentation and product metadata as requested
- Attend regularly scheduled and impromptu meetings with team members to discuss content, workflow, and product status
Job Requirements/Skills and Experience:
- B.A. in English, education, or a related field (M.A. a real plus)
- Superior writing, editing and project management skills
- Current knowledge of language, literacy and content issues
- Intermediate-Advanced proficiency, MS Office
- Basic proficiency, Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
- Comfortable juggling several projects concurrently
- Able to work collaboratively with other departments (e.g., design and marketing)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Teaching experience is a plus
