Job Description

Ares Management is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Vice President to join the Credit – FP&A and Capital Formation team as a part of the firm’s larger Finance organization. The team primarily works out of the Los Angeles office in partnership with the team members in Boston and New York. The ideal candidate would have experience working with private credit fund financing, fund forecasting, liquidity management, and liability management.  The role requires a dynamic, adaptive, experienced hands-on professional to ensure best practices in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.

Primary functions and essential responsibilities
  • Responsible for building and managing fund projection models for both public and private funds
  • Responsible for analyzing and assessing various debt capital opportunities
  • Responsible for assisting in various debt and equity capital raising including corporate revolvers, asset based financing, unsecured notes, equity issuances and others
  • Oversee various automation projects related to debt facilities and forecast projection models
  • Prepare presentations and other data requests for lenders and rating agencies
  • Manage various ad-hoc projects
Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Degree preferred
  • CPA, CFA license a plus, but not required

Experience Required:

  • Preferably 5- 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • Finance and financial services background a plus
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with Power BI, Anaplan and other financial planning applications a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and competing demands
  • A hands-on approach and ability to synthesize business operation needs
  • A solutions-oriented, self-starter and ability to see the big picture
  • An analytical mind and a passion/interest in bringing new ideas to increase efficiency of existing processes
  • Good judgment in terms of escalating issues vs. solving problems independently
  • Strong planning, organization, and analytical skills
  • Dependable, great attitude, highly motivated and a team player

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$145,000 - $185,000
