Responsibilities

The Department of Economics in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities seeks to fill a full-time non-tenure track job opening for an Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Full Teaching Professor. The appointment will be on Northeastern’s Boston campus to begin in Fall 2025.

Responsibilities include teaching six (6) courses per academic year, advising students, participating in department, college, and university service activities, and engaging in professional development. Candidates in any field are encouraged to apply, however, there is a preference for candidates willing to teach Macroeconomics at the undergraduate and master’s level, in addition to electives such as health economics and applied microeconomics courses.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Economics or related fields in hand by the employment start date is required.

  • A proven record of teaching excellence.

  • Demonstrated a commitment to fostering environments of belonging inside and outside of the classroom as well as to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern University education.

Pay Range:

Assistant Teaching Professor: $66,000 - $81,000 | Associate Teaching Professor: $79,000 - $90,000 | Teaching Professor: $85,000 - $106,000

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
