Altaquip, founded in 1997, has become one of the largest providers of commercial and consumer equipment service in the U.S. We offer services on a number of product categories, such small engine repair and outdoor power and lawn maintenance. Altaquip services over 100 manufacturer’s brands including Craftsman, Briggs & Stratton, Toro, Caterpillar, Husqvarna, Ariens, Generac, EGO, Greenworks and MTD, to name a few.

The Assistant Service Center Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the facility. Primary responsibilities are to maintain production levels, maximize customer service, and to manage the workflow through the facility. In addition, the Assistant Service Center Manager will manage the facility in the absence of the Service Center Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain targeted production goals
  • Manage aging units
  • Logistics, optimizing routes to improve customer service
  • Manage warranty claims and consistency
  • Process improvement documentation, and adherence
  • Supervise Technicians, Administrative Specialists and Drivers.
  • Managing and correcting repeat unit issues
  • Audit and maintain invoicing documentation standards.
  • Oversees materials and inventory  
  • Process flow management
  • Ship-ins, unpack and repack
  • Interview potential Technicians, Administrative Specialists and Drivers and make employment recommendations
  • Work with the Service Center Manager in counseling and setting improvement plans for team members
  • Coach and educate team members as needed
  • Customer Service via phone calls, walk ins and store visits
  • Opening and/or closing shop
  • Report Management; printing, posting and explaining reports
  • Cross train in all functional areas: Administration, Materials, Service Representative
  • Train new employees and cover open positions as needed
  • Safety audits
  • Occasional travel to cover open positions at other stores or train new Assistant Service Center Managers

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma/GED required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Ambitious, motivated self-starter with excellent leadership skills.
  • 2 – 5 years of prior management and/or materials procurement experience a plus
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ethics, integrity and high energy.

Working Conditions

  • Duties will be performed in a shop environment
  • Walking, standing, bending, reaching, and squatting will be required
  • The ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed is required

Salary range of $52,000.00 - $54,000.00 annual pay, DOE.
