The Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement at Fisher College invites qualified candidates to apply for the full-time Assistant Director Position. This is on-campus position at the Boston Campus.

The Assistant Director of Advancement & Alumni Engagement serves as a key member of the Advancement team, contributing to strategies that expand a culture of alumni engagement, participation, and philanthropy across Fisher College’s main campus in Boston and broader alumni community. The Assistant Director is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, implementation, and assessment of alumni engagement initiatives and events, while supporting advancement efforts that strengthen relationships with alumni, donors, friends, and prospective supporters of Fisher College.

In partnership with the Office of Marketing and Communications, the Assistant Director oversees alumni engagement communications, including alumni social media channels and electronic communication platforms, to strengthen alumni connection, participation, and affinity with the College and the Fisher College Alumni Association. The Assistant Director also collaborates with Career Services and academic leadership to cultivate opportunities for alumni networking, professional engagement, volunteerism, and mentorship of current Fisher students.

The Assistant Director serves as a primary liaison to alumni chapters, advisory groups, and regional alumni networks to strengthen alumni engagement domestically and internationally. This role supports the transition of graduating students into the Alumni Association, advances alumni re-engagement efforts, and maintains consistent outreach to alumni at varying stages of engagement. The Assistant Director manages alumni engagement tracking and reporting, supporting a growing pipeline of alumni volunteers, advocates, and donors.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Director of Advancement & Alumni Engagement and campus partners, including Student Life, Admissions, Athletics, Marketing and Communications, Academic Affairs, and Career Services, to expand meaningful pathways for alumni and donor engagement. As a representative of Fisher College, exceptional internal and external relationship management is essential. Working within a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment, all staff are expected to contribute to broader institutional priorities and community initiatives as needed. Opportunities to mentor interns, student workers, or volunteers may be available.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the implementation and continuous enhancement of alumni engagement and communication efforts across the alumni life cycle; support alumni committees, affinity groups, and engagement initiatives as appropriate
  • Analyze engagement trends, participation data, and audience metrics to inform alumni outreach, programming, and re-engagement strategies
  • Coordinate and execute alumni events, volunteer opportunities, mentoring initiatives, and engagement programming that strengthen alumni affinity and participation
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications and the Director of Advancement & Alumni Engagement to develop and maintain consistent alumni communications and digital engagement strategies
  • Collaborate with Career Services, Academic Affairs, faculty, and campus partners to cultivate alumni volunteer opportunities, including mentoring, guest speaking, workshops, and professional networking
  • Serve as a liaison to alumni chapters, advisory groups, and informal alumni communities to strengthen regional and digital engagement opportunities
  • Support advancement initiatives, annual giving efforts, stewardship activities, and special projects that strengthen the alumni-to-donor pipeline
  • Maintain accurate constituent, gift, and engagement records within CRM systems, including acknowledgments, reporting, and alumni participation tracking to support data integrity and informed outreach efforts
  • Monitor alumni surveys, scholarship-related engagement activity, internal communications, and participation trends to strengthen alumni programming and responsiveness
  • Identify and implement workflow improvements through technology, scheduling, reporting, and process optimization to enhance efficiency and engagement outcomes
Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 or more years of alumni relations, development or comparable experience.
  • Ability to build and steward regional and statewide relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presenter
  • Demonstrated ability to work with, motivate, and lead volunteers.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently while working collaboratively within the department
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and financial transactions.
  • Willingness and ability to travel with some evening and weekend work.
  • Ability to work professionally in a team environment
  • Skill in a range of technology platforms.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and differently abled backgrounds of a college community is of paramount importance.
