Barbaricum is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning (AI/ML) Tech Lead to support the Department of Defense’s Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAO) in accelerating AI/ML adoption across the enterprise. This role oversees AI/ML algorithms, pilot project support, and Generative AI (GenAI) R&D, ensuring strategic alignment and innovation. The Tech Lead will provide technical consultancy, prototype development, risk management, and business value demonstrations to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and maintain AI/ML cloud infrastructure (AWS, and potentially Azure, MilCloud 2.0).
  • Configure and optimize AI model training, inference, and large-scale data processing.
  • Identify and remediate cybersecurity risks, ensuring compliance with security best practices.
  • Automate cloud deployment, monitoring, and scaling using Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
  • Ensure high availability and fault tolerance for AI/ML workloads in cloud environments.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and reside within the United States.
  • AWS certifications highly preferred; AIML and SEC experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7-10 years of experience, or Master’s degree plus 3-5 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, AI/ML, or Data Engineering.
  • Experience with AWS Bedrock, Apache Spark, Databricks, and cloud-native AIML tools.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, risk remediation, and AI workload optimization.
  • Proficiency in Python, Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation.
