About Us:

At 1848 Ventures, we're not just building companies, we're shaping the future. As a venture studio focused on B2B SaaS startups powered by data and AI, we're on a mission to transform the SMB market in industries like construction, real estate, hospitality, retail, and restaurants. Our team of venture builders, data scientists, engineers, and designers leverage cutting-edge AI to build products that empower SMB businesses to succeed.

We're not following traditional playbooks; we're creating our own. Join us, and help drive innovation in industries where data and AI can make a real impact.

The Opportunity:

As the Applied AI Lead, you will be the driving force behind bringing AI out of the lab and into the hands of venture teams. Your mission: embed practical, intuitive AI into daily workflows across the studio, from ideation to GTM. You will serve as a translator between business needs and AI capabilities, building lightweight tools that make our teams faster, sharper, and more creative.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of innovation, enablement, and execution. You will develop co-pilots for research and outreach, craft prompt libraries, run hands-on workshops, and partner with technical leaders to make advanced AI infrastructure usable by everyone. You won’t just enable AI, you’ll help make it a habit.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and deliver AI-powered workflows for venture teams (e.g., SDR automation, market research, GTM content) and the organization at large.
  • Build prompt libraries, AI-powered templates, and self-serve tools for common internal use cases.
  • Run workshops and onboarding sessions to upskill teams in prompt engineering and co-pilot usage.
  • Collaborate with the Head of AI Knowledge Systems and AI Systems Architect to implement agents and infrastructure into everyday tools.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI tools that complement 1848V’s proprietary data infrastructure, amplifying our custom strategy with minimal lift and maximum alignment.
  • Track AI usage metrics and champion adoption across teams.

Who You Are:

  • Proven ability to drive adoption and experimentation at the intersection of product, operations, and AI, whether through past roles in growth, innovation, or consulting environments.
  • Comfortable building AI workflows using tools and LLMs.
  • Skilled in prompt engineering and teaching non-technical stakeholders how to get the most out of AI tools.
  • Sharp business instincts; understands when to prioritize speed vs precision.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.

What Does Great Look Like:

  • Everyone at 1848V uses AI like it’s second nature.
  • The prompt generator becomes a favorite tool across teams.
  • Venture teams ship faster because of your workflows.

Why Join Us?

  • Be a visible change agent, helping 1848V adopt AI-first ways of working.
  • Turn abstract potential into real-world utility by building tools that teams love and actually use.
  • Work side-by-side with domain experts, venture builders, and technical leads to deliver impact from day one.
  • Shape how AI is applied across diverse industries and startups models, creating tools that scale with each venture.
  • Make your mark at 1848V where every workflow you design becomes a multiplier for innovation.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
