The Application Specialist I provides administrative and technical support for applications, resolves issues, coaches users, and documents procedures.

The Application Specialist I helps to keep EmVEnio research applications running smoothly and operating properly. Resolves tickets and provides administrative and technical support and guidance on company applications to users. Troubleshoots issues and maintains applications with regular updates. Writes support and procedure documents, helps develop requirements and detailed specifications and works according to those requirements and specifications. Works independently under specified objectives and applies advanced troubleshooting techniques to identify, diagnose and correct application problems. This position supports employees’ use of applications trains the trainers to develop and deliver effective training, and coaching users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Previous industry experience, preferably working as a site coordinator, or clinical CRO experience, or similar service provider or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Ability to gain and retain a full and complete understanding of the functionality, data, and relation of assigned applications.
- Excellent organizational skills, including ability to manage complex spreadsheets.
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external parties.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with management, peers, subordinates, and external partners. Must display strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in an Electronic Data Capture or electronic Source Document application environment (e.g., configuring, loading data, troubleshooting) preferred.
- Ability to travel 0-10%.
Essential Functions/Areas of Accountability
- Coaches users on application functionality and best practices.
- Gathers business requirements from end-users to enhance application efficiencies.
- Maintains application functionality and identifies applications’ deficiencies; implements improvements.
- Assembles, analyzes, and evaluates data to make appropriate and well-reasoned recommendations and decisions to support the business and project teams.
- Plans and executes application configuration, communication, and results.
- Documents procedures and processes to ensure repeatability and data sharing.
- Develops and maintains relationships within the organization and/or with external partners and understands the unique needs of each partnership.
- Delivers timely, impactful work products in alignment with business development strategies and goals.
- Monitors, reviews, and maintains access control to applications.
- Supports end users as a power-user in applications, performing high-level tasks.
- Administers and supports business functions around applications, such as administering training (enrolling and guiding users) within applications’ training environments.
- Fields users’ questions about applications.
- Troubleshoots and solves users’ problems using applications.
- Participates in Company or Sponsor-required training programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Travels as needed.
The typical base pay range for this role is USD $63,800 - $90,900 per year.
Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience, skills and other market-based factors.
