Application Programmer – Basic

Location: Remote.

Employment Type: Full-time.

Salary Range: $115,000 – $125,000.

Program Overview

The Application Programmer – Basic will provide experience and knowledge of sustainment lifecycle management activities for programs and project operations. This role supports the design, development, testing, and maintenance of computer programs to ensure applications meet user and system requirements.

You will work with systems analysts and designers to research and document requirements, analyze objectives, translate solutions into detailed program specifications, and assist with program design and modifications. This position also involves supporting testing, documentation, and reporting to ensure the smooth sustainment of system software applications.

Duties of an Application Programmer – Basic may include but are not limited to:
  • Providing experience and knowledge of sustainment lifecycle management activities for programs and project operations.

  • Participating in the design of software tools and subsystems to support reuse and domain analysis.

  • Assisting in the management, development, testing, and maintenance of computer programs to ensure user requirements are met.

  • Collaborating with systems analysts and/or designers to research and document computer user requirements.

  • Analyzing objectives and problems identified by analysts and/or designers.

  • Translating solutions provided by systems designers into detailed program specifications.

  • Assisting with preparation of documentation for other programmers, users, and support staff.

  • Supporting program design activities including definition of data structures and error message arrangements.

  • Assisting with modification and documentation of program code to correct errors or enhance application capabilities.

  • Supporting application testing and preparing reports on the status, operation, and maintenance of system software applications.

Required Skills / Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline and 8+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience and knowledge of sustainment lifecycle management activities for programs and project operations.

  • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.

  • Must possess IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3).

  • DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level - I (A+ CE, CCNA Security, CND, Network Security, SSCP) OR higher (IAT II or III)
  • DLA CE Cert IA Role/Function: MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 1. The contractor shall meet the certification requirements within 6 months after the determination is made.
