Position Summary – Analytics Manager, Gen-AI & Automation Focus 
Join the Product Operations team that drives standardization, accelerates delivery, and improves outcomes for more than 260 scrum teams and over 10,000 customers, advancing athenahealth’s vision of a thriving healthcare ecosystem. At the forefront of leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and other generative-AI techniques, our team’s data and AI assets power ELT-level decision-making, provide end-to-end transparency across the Product Lifecycle, and continuously boost reporting accuracy and process efficiency. You will architect and scale LLM-driven workflows that automate routine analysis, surface richer insights, and enable colleagues to focus on higher-value innovation. This is an office-first hybrid role with < 10 percent travel. 

 

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):  

 

50% - Maintain, Analyze, and Execute on Analytics Based Projects  

  • Prototype, fine-tune, and productionize LLM solutions (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, etc.) that:  

  • Generate first-draft analyses, documentation, and stakeholder summaries. 

  • Automate data-quality checks and metadata enrichment. 

  • Perform natural-language querying over SQL/Power BI models. 
    Curate high-quality prompt libraries and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines for repeatable insights. 

  • Define new AI-ready datasets and metrics; build self-service dashboards exposing both raw data and LLM-generated commentary. 

  • Serve as an analytics translator, turning business problems into AI solutions and demystifying LLM outputs for non-technical partners. 
    Continuously measure impact, speed, cost-to-insight, and accuracy and iterate to raise the bar. 

  • Ability to tie Product Operations automation & AI investments to broader company productivity tooling investments 

30% - Project Management  

  • Own AI/analytics projects from discovery through deployment using agile PM practices. 

  • Capture stakeholder feedback to refine prompts, improve model performance, and prioritize the automation roadmap. 

  • Work directly with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and business goals 

20% - Strategic Projects  

  • Collaborate with senior team members to develop end user reporting and analytics 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills to keep key stakeholders up to date and to build relationships

Knowledge & Skills:  

  • Excellent communicator, thoughtful team player, highly adaptive, and a strong sense of personal integrity 

  • Proven track record building with GPT, Gemini, Claude or similar; prompt-engineering best practices; experience evaluating hallucination, bias, and safety. 

  • Strong SQL, Snowflake, Power BI/Tableau; ability to weave model outputs directly into dashboards and data products. 

  • Familiarity with Python, PowerShell, or JS for orchestrating APIs, vector databases, and CI/CD; enthusiasm for turning ad-hoc analysis into repeatable, self-service tooling. 

  • Capable of framing complex AI concepts in plain language; excels at stakeholder storytelling and change management. 

  • Comfortable designing rapid A/B tests, establishing offline/online evaluation metrics, and iterating quickly. 

  • Can codify new processes, create training assets, and mentor teams to adopt AI-augmented workflows. 

  • Willingness to learn and expand knowledge every day through independent learning and digging into challenging problems 

  • Passionate about contributing to teams and developing solutions for others to follow.  

  • Able to intake business questions, identify solutions, and assist operational teams with execution to achieve goals 

  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships; excited about working with others through change.  

  • Professional attitude – comfortable working in a corporate setting populated by diverse types of people  

  • Proven ability to influence without authority—guiding senior level stakeholders through data backed recommendations. 

  • Bias toward action, curiosity, and self-directed learning. 

Education & Experience 

  • 6+ years of professional experience 

  • 3+ years of experience programming in Python or R 

  • 2+ years of experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLM) desired 

  • 2+ years of experience building and maintaining scalable API solutions 

  • 2+ years of experience designing solutions to address client requirements
