About Copia

Copia is the world’s leading provider of OT backup & code management software. We develop novel tools and technologies to help companies manage, review, and deploy the code that runs industrial systems, factories, warehouses, and critical infrastructure. We're a 50+ person team growing 2x year-over-year, backed by top investors like Construct, Lux, Ironspring, and Renegade, and serving customers across all types of manufacturing, logistics, data centers, and energy.

 About the Role

BizOps is a high-visibility and high-leverage team at Copia, tasked with taking on many of the organization’s most important challenges. As Copia’s founding Analytics Engineer, you will own Copia’s analytics infrastructure, contribute to the success of transformative projects, and solve novel challenges with AI. You will report directly to the Head of BizOps.

Your first priority is to eliminate manual work across our GTM operations by building data pipelines, integrating systems, and automating tasks across our CRM and sales processes. An early project: parsing call and video transcripts to automatically capture essential CRM data, then surfacing insights from that data which directly influence what actions our teammates in sales take next. As you free up operational capacity, you'll increasingly serve as an analytical partner to leadership, turning messy data into clear recommendations on our most important strategic questions.

In the medium term (mid-2026), you'll work with other members of the BizOps team to design and build internal AI applications to enhance our most important business processes. You'll need the agility to pivot as priorities evolve, the judgment to know which problems are worth solving, and a passion for your craft.

What You'll Do

  • Automate GTM operations: Build and maintain automated data pipelines, CRM integrations, and workflow tools that replace manual sales ops work with scalable, reliable systems.

  • Build BI infrastructure from the ground up: Design and own our data stack – from ingestion and transformation to dashboards – so that GTM leaders have trustworthy, self-serve access to the metrics that matter.

  • Advise leadership with rigorous analysis: Partner with stakeholders across the company to translate ambiguous, high-priority business problems into clear, data-driven strategies. Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership.

  • Design and ship internal AI apps: Build AI-powered internal tools and applications that give the team lasting leverage – moving beyond one-off analyses to products your colleagues use every day.

Qualifications

    Required

  • 4+ years of commercial experience solving operational problems with data (or 2+ years with a relevant graduate degree)

  • Strong SQL and Python skills; you're comfortable writing production-quality code, not just notebooks

  • Track record of influencing key decisions by changing how people think about a problem

  • Comfort presenting to and pushing back on executive stakeholders

  • Builder mentality: once you realize a recurring task is worth automating, you feel compelled to build it

  • Preferred

  • Experience with our stack: Databricks, dbt, Hex, HubSpot

  • Experience building and maintaining internal tools or apps (not just analyses) using AI

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)

  • Experience in B2B SaaS or developer tools

Why This Role

  • Direct executive access: You report to the VP of BizOps and work directly with Copia's leadership team. Short feedback loops, high visibility.

  • Build AI with AI: We use AI tools aggressively in our own workflows and expect you to do the same. You'll ship AI-powered internal apps, not just talk to them.

  • Novel technology challenges: Industrial automation is a massive, under-digitized market. The GTM challenges here are genuinely novel – you won't be recycling playbooks from other SaaS companies.

  • Join a successful startup: Copia is the only U.S. provider of OT device backup software. New regulations, the increasing frequency of cyber threats, and the exploding complexity of OT device code are all increasing our TAM, and we need you to help us capture it.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
