Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports the development of analytic strategies to resolve key intelligence questions of missiondriven requirements.
- Works with ambiguous information, deconstructs key questions, suggests methodologies, develops data schema to structured observations, and supports visualization of applicable data.
- Identifies and evaluates a wide range of existing methods, models, and algorithms to develop more accurate, complete, objective, and anticipatory analysis for intelligence production.
- Identifies, retrieves, manipulates, relates, and / or exploits structured data sets from all available sources.
- Uses scripts, visual analytic modeling tools, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for repeatable, widely applicable procedures.
- Combines empirical or quantitative methods with data analysis for intelligence production of complex and data-driven assessments.
- Evaluates the capabilities and limitations of analytic methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, data mining, decision analysis or modeling and simulation.
- 3+ years of experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis, such as Python or R
- Experience developing and documenting predictive data models, quantitative analyses, and visualization of targeted data sources
- Formal training or professional experience conducting quantitative social science, including survey design and analysis and/or field or laboratory experiments.
- Possession of excellent detail-oriented and organizational skills
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, computer science or quantitative social science or four additional years of experience in those fields
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in quantitative social science including statistics and methodological training.
- Ability to work with non-technical audiences on technical problems in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment, and balance long and short-term taskings
- Ability to take poorly defined problems and convert them into questions for which practical quantitative solutions can be defined
- Ability to exhibit flexibility, initiative, and innovation to succeed in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment and compose client deliverable quality documentation, analysis, and reports
General Factors:
- Depending on project requirements, may be required to work within a compressed schedule; more than 40-hour work weeks should be expected when schedules demand it.
- Willing to travel, if needed.
- No Relocation.
- Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for long-periods and must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to multi-task and rapidly change priorities with limited notice.
Clearance: TS/SCI with current CI Poly (adjudicated within the past 5 years or ability to pass a CI Poly)
Location: Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling; On-Site
Salary Range: 70K - 87K
