Your Impact at LILA

The Analyst, Corporate Strategy sits at the center of how Lila Sciences thinks about its future. This is a high-visibility, high-impact individual contributor role within the Strategy and Corporate Development function, reporting to the SVP of Commercial Finance. The team is small, senior, and fast-moving.

You will support the full range of the function's work: corporate strategy development, competitive intelligence, M&A and corporate development, enterprise and strategic planning, and OKR-linked incentive tracking. You will work directly with senior leaders across the company and have regular exposure to board and investor-level materials.

This role is well-suited to someone early in their career who is intellectually curious, operates with strong analytical rigor, and is energized by working at the intersection of science, technology, and business strategy.

What You'll Be Building

  • Synthesize market, competitive, and internal data to support strategic decision-making
  • Build and maintain structured analyses, frameworks, and presentations for senior leadership and board audiences
  • Track emerging trends in AI, life sciences, and physical sciences relevant to Lila's strategic positioning
  • Support deal processes including landscape mapping, initial screening, and diligence preparation
  • Maintain competitive intelligence across key market segments, including company tracking, partnership activity, and technology developments
  • Build and refresh comp sets and market benchmarks in support of M&A and partnership evaluation
  • Support the annual strategic planning cycle, including data gathering, cross-functional synthesis, and documentation
  • Assist in OKR infrastructure: tracking, reporting, and maintaining the linkage between role-level objectives and company-level priorities
  • Produce clean, accurate outputs for leadership reviews and planning offsites

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, investment banking, or a related analytical field
  • Strong academic background; undergraduate degree from a rigorous institution required
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including financial modeling, data synthesis, and structured problem framing
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication; ability to distill complex information into crisp outputs
  • High degree of ownership and follow-through; this is a role for someone who runs things to completion without needing to be managed closely
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with shifting priorities

Bonus Points For

  • Prior exposure to M&A processes, due diligence, or transaction support
  • Familiarity with OKR frameworks or enterprise planning processes
  • Experience producing materials for board or investor audiences
  • Proficiency with data visualization or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, or equivalent)
  • Background in or genuine interest in life sciences, biotech, or deep tech industries
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) a plus but not required

Compensation

We offer competitive base compensation with bonus potential and generous early-stage equity. Your final offer will reflect your background, expertise, and expected impact.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
