Your Role

Arta Finance is looking for an Alternative Investments Specialist to join our growing business!

In this role, you will work directly with Arta’s Head of Alternative Investments to grow the private markets business, interacting frequently with top fund managers and clients. You will also conduct comprehensive investment due diligence on prospective and existing fund managers, in depth portfolio analysis, and help research, analyze, and synthesize industry and market events that could impact the alternative investing landscape. Core activities will be analytical and will require the ability to develop and communicate insights from the analyses.  

What You Will Do
  • Evaluation of alternative investment managers across private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, credit, infrastructure and real estate

  • Monitoring existing managers and funds

  • Building and maintaining investment database and forward calendar of potential opportunities

  • Developing proprietary research on asset classes and capital markets

  • Conducting performance measurement and attribution

  • Supporting investment operations and technical systems

  • Improving and developing proprietary quantitative models and forecasts

  • Continuing to drive improvements in the due diligence and monitoring process

  • Working closely with other financial product teams on the execution of portfolio strategies

  • Participate in special projects on an ad-hoc basis

Who You Are
  • 4~9 years of work experience in alternative assets

  • Prior working experience at Endowments, Foundations, Pension Funds, Single/Multi-Family Offices, Banks, Fund of Funds, or Secondaries firms 

  • Self-motivated team player who possesses intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, thoughtfulness, high attention to details, with a strong sense of ownership and eager to learn and work with others

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with applications used for business and industry research (e.g. Preqin, Pitchbook, CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, etc.)

  • Have ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines while adapting quickly to shifting priorities

  • Currently based in the Bay area or you already have a plan to relocate to the Bay area. Please note that we do not provide relocation bonus.

  5. Role Related Knowledge Interview with a co-founder/Product Manager (45m)

  6. Final Interview with President (30m)

Arta's Compensation Philosophy

We determine your level based on factors including your interview performance, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Our offers are based on salary bands that are updated periodically using market benchmarks and consider geographic location as well (for example, higher cost regions like San Francisco or New York). If you are presented with an offer, we will review the base salary, benefits, number of options, notional option value and strike price. We would like to know if you accept our offer within 7 days.
Please keep in mind that the equity portion of your offer is not included in these numbers and represents a significant part of your total compensation.
IC I: $110,000-$180,000
IC II: $160,000-$230,000
IC III: $180,000-$300,000
