Job Description:

The Role
Do you want to build real AI products at scale while shaping how they are delivered responsibly across the enterprise? We are hiring an AI Technology Risk Engineer to designing, building, and shipping AI‑powered products and platforms—while embedding strong technology risk and control foundations from day one! In this role, you will be hands‑on engineering, integrating, and hardening modern AI stacks including agentic workflows, cloud AI platforms, and full‑stack systems. This is an opportunity to help define how AI products are built, deployed, and scaled safely across Fidelity.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • You bring 5–8 years of experience building and delivering production AI or ML‑driven products, with strong full‑stack engineering depth.

  • You have hands‑on experience with modern AI frameworks and tooling such as LangGraph, LlamaIndex, and agent‑based architectures, and have built or contributed to agentic workflows, autonomous agents, and orchestration logic that integrate tools, memory, and decisioning.

  • You are comfortable working across the full AI product stack, including vector databases, embedding strategies, indexing, caching, and long‑term memory patterns.

  • You have strong experience across cloud‑native AI platforms and infrastructure, including Google Vertex AI, as well as AWS and Azure services used to deploy, scale, and secure AI applications.

  • You understand and implement standard cloud capabilities such as API gateways, authentication and authorization, application security controls, CI/CD, and observability, and you bring an engineering mindset to identifying and mitigating technology risks in AI systems.

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred, with experience building AI products in regulated or enterprise environments strongly valued.

The Team
This role is part of ETRA (Enterprise Risk and Analytics) and partners deeply with Fidelity’s engineering and product teams to enable innovation while managing risk at scale. We are focused on building alongside our partners, embedding risk thinking directly into AI platforms and products rather than reviewing them after the fact. We collaborate across engineering, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, legal, and compliance organizations to support safe, scalable adoption of AI and agentic technologies. We are committed to our clients, to technological leadership, and to fostering a culture of learning, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

The base salary range for this position is $107,000-216,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.

We offer a wide range of benefits to meet your evolving needs and help you live your best life at work and at home.  These benefits include comprehensive health care coverage and emotional well-being support, market-leading retirement, generous paid time off and parental leave, charitable giving employee match program, and educational assistance including student loan repayment, tuition reimbursement, and learning resources to develop your career.  Note, the application window closes when the position is filled or unposted.

Please be advised that Fidelity’s business is governed by the provisions of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940, ERISA, numerous state laws governing securities, investment and retirement-related financial activities and the rules and regulations of numerous self-regulatory organizations, including FINRA, among others.
