About Attuned Intelligence

Attuned Intelligence is automating patient access for community health centers and health systems. We build AI-powered voice agents that automate how patients enter, navigate, and stay connected to care — from the first phone call to a scheduled visit.

Every missed call at a health center is a missed appointment. Every language barrier is a gap in care. We exist to close those gaps. Our platform handles hundreds of thousands of calls per month across multiple languages, routing patients to the right care team on the first try — and integrating directly with Epic to automate scheduling, appointment management, and clinical workflows.

We're a fast-moving team backed by a deep understanding of agentic systems and healthcare operations with a mission-driven approach to building technology that makes care more accessible and equitable.

The role

We're looking for a hands-on AI solutions engineer to build and improve agents for our healthcare customers. You'll translate requirements gathered by the Customer Delivery team into reliable agent capabilities, developing prompts, conversation flows, and tool integrations that improve patient access and reduce administrative work.

Partnering with platform engineers, you'll prototype new capabilities, test the complete experience, and turn recurring customer needs into reusable solutions across the Attuned platform.

Success means customers have reliable agents, know how to use them effectively, and can see measurable improvements in their operations.

What you'll do
  • Build and validate customer solutions. Design prompts, conversation flows, knowledge content, and tool integrations. Test complete experiences against realistic scenarios and customer expectations.

  • Develop new agent capabilities. Translate customer problems into new agent behaviors, tools, and workflows. Prototype and validate solutions, building directly where appropriate and partnering with platform engineers on capabilities that require product or infrastructure changes.

  • Test and troubleshoot systematically. Develop scalable testing systems that can run representative customer scenarios. Reproduce failures, distinguish prompt and configuration issues from model or platform problems, and verify that changes improve the intended behavior.

  • Drive ongoing customer outcomes. Use call results and feedback gathered by Customer Delivery to recommend and implement agent improvements and identify opportunities to expand the agent's usefulness. Measure progress through successful task completion, patient experience, and reduced staff effort while preserving privacy and appropriate human handoffs.

  • Turn customer learning into product improvements. Identify needs shared across customers and contribute reusable capabilities, implementation approaches, and recommendations for the product roadmap.

What you'll bring
  • 3-5 years experience with hands-on experience building LLM-based agents, conversational experiences, or workflow automations, with concrete examples of what you built and how you tested it.

  • Experience with voice AI, conversation design, speech recognition, or text-to-speech systems.

  • Strong writing and structured reasoning: you can turn an ambiguous request into clear instructions, decision logic, and observable success criteria.

  • Practical programming or scripting ability, plus comfort working with APIs, JSON, version control, and logs to build and debug workflows.

  • A methodical approach to troubleshooting. You investigate what happened, reproduce the problem, and validate the fix against the actual user experience.

  • Clear communication with technical and nontechnical teammates, including explaining dependencies and surfacing missing requirements early.

Helpful experience
  • Agent tool calling, evaluation frameworks, or automated scenario testing.

  • Customer implementations, technical support, or another role that translates real-world operating requirements into working software.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
