The Sr Staff Data Scientist will work in and lead teams as technical domain expert addressing statistical, machine learning and data understanding problems in a commercial technology and consultancy development environment. In this role, you will contribute to the development and deployment of modern machine learning, operational research, semantic analysis, and statistical methods for finding structure in large data sets.

Roles and Responsibilities
As a Sr Staff Data Scientist, you will be part of a data science or cross-disciplinary team on commercially-facing development projects, typically involving large, complex data sets. These teams typically include statisticians, computer scientists, software developers, engineers, product managers, and end users, working in concert with partners in GE business units.
Experience in the medical field and excellent communication skills are required to effectively bridge the gap between hospital staff, understand clinical needs, and technical teams at GE or its partners.
Experience in developing AI in medical imaging, especially in the area of detecting disease/findings in X-ray imaging is highly desired.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with GE Software Engagement Managers to shape Statements of Work for Data Science opportunities and GE Software Solutions
- Participate in Data Science Workouts to shape Data Science opportunities and identify opportunities to use data science to create customer value
- Develop, verify, and validate analytics to address customer needs and opportunities.
- Work as part of a cross-functional team to translate algorithms into commercially viable products and services.
- Work in technical teams in development, deployment, and application of applied analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics.
- Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods.
- Work with data engineers on data quality assessment, data cleansing and data analytics
- Generate reports, annotated code, and other projects artifacts to document, archive, and communicate your work and outcomes.
- Communicate methods, findings, and hypotheses with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science
- Minimum 8 years of experience, including Medical Imaging
- Proven expertise in data management, prescriptive analytics, and solutions integration
- Strong domain knowledge in relevant industry sectors
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Effective team player with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Adaptable to ambiguous environments and a proactive change agent
