Overview

The AI Presales Leader, Solutions Architect will help lead AI at ePlus—inside the company and with customers. This is a player-coach role for someone who can guide a team, stay close to the technology, advise executives, and represent ePlus at customer, partner, and industry events. 

You will work with sales, engineering, consulting, business teams, and technology partners. You will find practical AI use cases, turn customer needs into clear solutions, and help move strong ideas from prototype to business case and repeatable ePlus offering.

Your Impact

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: 

Enterprise AI Leadership and Adoption 

  • Help set AI priorities for ePlus and keep teams focused on the most useful opportunities. 
  • Work with business and technology leaders to find and rank internal AI use cases. 
  • Drive responsible use of AI through clear guidance, education, and governance. 
  • Lead and coach AI-focused presales professionals while staying hands-on in key customer work. 
  • Bring together sales, delivery, business teams, and partners to move priority work forward. 

Customer AI Advisory and Growth 

  • Be a trusted AI advisor to customer executives, business leaders, and technical teams. 
  • Turn business problems into clear AI recommendations, roadmaps, and solution options. 
  • Lead executive briefings, discovery workshops, and customer planning sessions. 
  • Work with sales to qualify opportunities, shape the solution, and support complex pursuits. 
  • Connect customer needs with the right ePlus services and partner technologies. 

AI Evangelism and Thought Leadership 

  • Be a visible voice for ePlus on practical AI use and emerging trends. 
  • Represent ePlus at customer events, executive briefings, partner programs, webinars, and conferences. 
  • Create presentations, demonstrations, and other content that make complex AI topics easy to understand. 
  • Build strong relationships with customers, partners, internal experts, and industry groups. 

Innovation, Use-Case Development, and Technical Leadership 

  • Take promising AI ideas from use-case definition through prototype, business case, and delivery plan. 
  • Work with architects, engineers, consultants, business teams, and partners to build secure, practical solutions. 
  • Stay hands-on by leading discovery, shaping architectures, supporting demonstrations and proofs of concept, and reviewing key design choices. 
  • Turn successful work into repeatable ePlus offerings, sales plays, reference architectures, and team resources. 
  • Review designs, proposals, Statements of Work, and project scopes to confirm that ePlus can deliver what is proposed. 

Business Growth and Strategic Initiatives 

  • Build regional plans with sales and practice leaders to grow the AI business. 
  • Watch market and technology trends and recommend where ePlus should invest. 
  • Maintain relationships with key AI technology partners and vendors. 
  • Track AI pipeline, opportunity progress, win rates, and revenue. 
  • Improve presales processes, tools, training, and reporting as the practice grows. 

Professional Development 

  • Stay current on AI technologies, cloud platforms, security, governance, and market trends. 
  • Complete approved training and maintain relevant certifications. 
  • Share lessons, technical knowledge, and market insights with engineering and presales teams.

Qualifications

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience. 
  • 8+ years of experience in presales engineering, solutions architecture, consulting, or technical sales. 
  • 3+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing technical presales, engineering, or architecture teams. 
  • Demonstrated experience designing, positioning, or implementing AI, machine learning, data analytics, automation, cloud, or related technology solutions. 
  • Experience partnering with enterprise sales organizations to drive technical wins and revenue growth. 
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, including generative AI, large language models, AI infrastructure, data platforms, and AI governance concepts. 
  • Executive presence and a proven ability to communicate complex technical and business concepts to customer executives, technical audiences, partners, and internal stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated player-coach leadership, including the ability to influence across functions, mentor technical talent, and remain hands-on in high-impact work. 
  • Experience moving AI work from an initial use case to a prototype, business case, and broader rollout. 

Preferred 

  • Experience leading presales teams and developing AI solutions. 
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft AI, Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, NVIDIA, AWS, Google Cloud AI, or other leading AI platforms. 
  • Experience building AI business cases and implementation roadmaps. 
  • Relevant certifications in AI, cloud, architecture, or data technologies. 
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI, governance, security, and compliance. 

Position Specifics

The initial base salary range for this position is expected to be between $160,000 and $200,000 annually. The final base salary offered will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, depth of experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, our compensation structure may include other components such as commissions and discretionary bonuses.

ePlus offers a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility, employee stock purchase program, and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and personal leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an offer of employment is extended.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
