TITLE: AI Platform Developer
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As Duck Creek expands its enterprise AI capabilities through DuckGPT, Copilot integrations, and the AI Center of Excellence (CoE), there is a growing need for a dedicated AI Platform Developer to design, maintain, and scale the technical foundation that enables these initiatives. 
 
This role is critical for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of Duck Creek’s internal AI environment, including AnythingLLM, Copilot Studio, and Microsoft AI Foundry. The developer will bridge engineering and enablement functions, focusing on creating a centralized AI infrastructure layer that supports multiple enterprise use cases, integrations, and automations. 
The AI Platform Developer at Duck Creek Technologies designs, develops, and maintains AI platform components that enable scalable, secure, and responsible AI solutions across the enterprise. This role applies deep technical expertise to build reusable frameworks, integrate AI services into business applications, and ensure alignment with governance, compliance, and architectural standards.
This position contributes to Duck Creek’s mission of empowering insurers to reimagine the future of insurance by delivering robust AI infrastructure and tools that accelerate innovation, improve efficiency, and enhance employee and customer experience.
Job Functions & Responsibilities:
AI Platform Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain AI platform components, APIs, and integrations to support enterprise AI use cases. 
- Develop reusable modules, pipelines, and automation frameworks to accelerate AI adoption across business units. 
- Implement security, compliance, and governance controls in all AI platform solutions. 
Solution Development & Integration
- Develop and optimize data pipelines, connectors, and orchestration logic for AI agents and automation. 
- Develop and maintain AI services, APIs, and connectors to support enterprise-wide use cases and internal operations. 
- Ensure AI solutions are scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient. 
 
Technical Leadership & Mentorship
- Provide technical guidance to junior developers and project teams on AI development best practices. 
- Contribute to the definition of platform standards, coding guidelines, and reusable design patterns. 
- Support cross-functional teams by troubleshooting platform and integration challenges. 
 
Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with AI/ML frameworks, tools, and emerging technologies. 
- Evaluate new technologies for potential adoption, balancing innovation with responsible use. 
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and CI/CD pipelines. 
 
Collaboration & Reporting
- Partner with architecture, GRC, and security teams to ensure compliance with AI governance frameworks. 
- Provide project updates, technical documentation, and recommendations to management. 
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical designs. 
WHAT YOU’VE DONE:
- Bachelor’s or Masters Degree and/or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering or platform development. 
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies, APIs, or automation frameworks. 
- Strong programming skills and understanding of cloud-native architectures. 
- Familiarity with AI governance, compliance, and security considerations. 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS:
- Professional certifications in AI/ML, cloud, or governance (e.g., AI-900) preferred. 
- Experience in SaaS or enterprise technology environments preferred. 
- Advanced technical knowledge of AI frameworks, APIs, and data pipelines. 
- Ability to design scalable, reusable, and secure AI platform components. 
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills. 
- Capability to guide and mentor less-experienced engineers. 
- Proactive and innovative mindset, with focus on delivering business value through technology.

Location: Remote US

Duck Creek Technologies supports a flexible-first work environment and has employees throughout the United States. Based on a fair and equitable compensation philosophy, we have five (5) United States pay markets based on regional validated survey market data. The expected salary range for this position is between $111,100 and $179,200. This position is also eligible for annual bonuses. The final compensation may vary due to the above listed factors and be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
