We are seeking an AI IT & FinOps Intern for our Waltham, MA office. This is a full-time 2 month internship.
Job Summary
In this role, you will work at the intersection of IT, Finance, and AI enablement to help Imprivata maximize the value of its AI investments. You will maintain visibility into AI products and pilots in use, analyze token-, credit-, and license-based spend, support forecasting and budgeting, and evaluate ROI for AI productivity initiatives. You will also help teams adopt AI more effectively by documenting best practices, developing lightweight training materials, and identifying optimization opportunities that improve value, governance, and user outcomes.
Duties and responsibilities
- Maintain an inventory of AI products, models, licenses, pilots, and business use cases in use across the company
- Analyze AI spend at the product, vendor, project, and token or credit level and help explain cost drivers
- Build and support reports and dashboards to track AI utilization, budget versus actuals, forecasting assumptions, and savings or productivity impact
- Support ROI analyses and business cases for AI productivity projects, including baseline metrics and post-launch measurement
- Identify optimization opportunities such as model tiering, license right-sizing, prompt efficiency, workflow design, and vendor consolidation
- Partner with IT, Finance and business stakeholders to support planning, budgeting, and responsible AI operations
- Create documentation, quick-start guides, and training materials that help employees use approved AI tools effectively and responsibly
- Document AI use cases, pricing assumptions, dependencies, governance requirements, and key decisions for cross-functional review
- Prepare recommendations and presentations for leadership on AI spend trends, forecast updates, risks, and optimization actions
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in Finance, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related program
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills are required
- Strong customer service, stakeholder partnership, and communication skills
- Advanced experience with Excel or Google Sheets; experience with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Experience building presentations, summaries, and reports for non-technical audiences
- Familiarity with BI or data tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python preferred
- Interest in AI tools, AI productivity use cases, and responsible AI practices preferred
- Ability to learn AI pricing concepts such as tokens, credits, licenses, and unit cost drivers
- Interest in budgeting, forecasting, vendor spend analysis, or ROI modeling
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with structured and unstructured data
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a flexible, fast-paced environment
- Curiosity, initiative, and enthusiasm for helping teams get better business value from AI
This position offers an hourly range of $24.00 to $25.00. This range represents the high and low end of Imprivata’s compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, such as a candidate’s location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
