Vicarious Surgical is hiring an Agile Product Owner to join our team in Waltham, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the software and electrical technical product roadmap and vision for Vicarious Surgical’s robotic platform, working as the software liaison between the software development/electrical  teams and the cross functional stakeholders. 

Vicarious Surgical is a next generation robotics company developing a disruptive technology with the goal of increasing the efficiency of surgical procedure, improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.

Responsibilities

  • Establish backlog to collaboratively define and communicate the priorities for the software development teams
  • Write Requirements and User Stories to enable testing and clear acceptance criteria for engineering deliverables 
  • Establish key Objectives for Sprints and Program Increments
  • Establish Critical Milestones and cross functional dependencies
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including, Product Development, Marketing, Quality and Regulatory Affairs team members and leadership
  • Balance short-term goals with a long-term vision, considering program and business needs along with technical feasibility
  • Manage the scope of the Product and make trade-offs using data driven decision making
  • Continuously refine the software and electrical backlog based on changing needs and technical feasibility
  • Collaborate and facilitate requirements definition for the Product
  • Lead and drive software integration activities and release planning
  • Gain cooperation and commitment from people through influence, not authority
  • Report on metrics like backlog maturity, scope changes, etc.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline
  • 5-7+ years of experience working as a Software or Systems Engineer, Product Owner or Product Manager in complex  device software development; more specific experience with robotics systems, medical devices, and/or UI/UX software development on  is helpful
  • Proven success leading and inspiring small and large  teams
  • Expertise with Agile or Scaled Agile methodology
  • Desired Certified SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager or Release Train Engineer
  • Strong ability to define visions, roadmaps, strategies and effectively prioritizing and managing product backlogs
