Overview
Clocktower is building a small network of regional partners to introduce Clocktower’s Strategy, Research & Advisory offering to hedge funds, allocators, banks, and corporates in their home markets. This is a consulting and referral arrangement, not a full-time position. Introductions are for the Strategy, Research & Advisory offering only and don't extend to Clocktower's investment funds.
About Clocktower
Clocktower is an alternative asset management and advisory firm based in Santa Monica, with a global presence, including an office in Shanghai. In public markets, we seed macro-oriented hedge fund managers and manage an Asian equity platform. In private markets, we invest in fintech and Latin American startups. Several times a year we host global conferences bringing together our clients and partners, including sovereign wealth funds, tech founders, hedge fund managers, and successful individuals in creative niches. Clocktower’s edge is our network.
Clocktower Strategy, Research & Advisory
Clocktower Strategy, Research & Advisory is a macro concierge. We provide research and direct strategist access to hedge funds, allocators, banks, and corporates, covering the US, China, geopolitics, and fiscal and monetary policy, with bespoke work built around client questions and Clocktower’s world-class conferences and network attached.
Scope of the Engagement
You bring the relationships. We bring the product, the strategists, the materials, and the events.
  • Introductions. Open doors to CIOs, heads of research, portfolio managers, and senior allocators in your market who would value the research and the access.
  • Warm handoff. Set up and join the first call or meeting with our team, then stay involved as much as the relationship needs. Clocktower handles the pitch, pricing, contract, and client service from there.
  • Local read. Tell us who matters in your market, who is paying for research today, and how they buy.
  • Events. Where useful, bring the right people from your market into Clocktower dinners and conferences in your region.
Background we're looking for
  • Demonstrated relationships in a major financial hub with a real hedge fund and allocator base.
  • Experience in the industry. Investor relations, capital markets, research sales, prime brokerage, or allocation, or a former investor or strategist with a strong local network.
  • Credibility with senior investors. People take your call.
  • Working knowledge of macro and markets so you can represent the offering accurately.
  • Comfort with a flexible, commission-based arrangement and with running your own schedule.
  • Able to work with us as an independent contractor under a consulting agreement.
What you’ll get
  • Commission on every introduction that becomes a client, for the term of the agreement.
  • Flexibility. Remote, no set hours, no org chart. You control your own schedule, methods, and work location. Fee structure is set in the consulting agreement and is commission-based; there is no salary, wage, or guaranteed minimum.
  • Support. Sales materials, data room access, and a Clocktower point of contact for every introduction.
  • A seat at Clocktower conferences and dinners in your region.
How to submit interest
If you are interested in being a part of Clocktower’s Strategy, Research & Advisory offering, we welcome thoughtful submissions on the engagement. Please send a short note on your market and the relationships you hold, along with a CV or LinkedIn profile.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
