As the Advanced Lead Engineer - Inlet and Exhaust Design, you will contribute to the design, optimization, and support of inlet and exhaust systems, ensuring alignment with business priorities and technical requirements. You will focus on module-level initiatives, collaborating with component design engineers and other stakeholders to interpret requirements, perform trade studies, and ensure proper integration.
In this role, you will coordinate cross-functional teams, provide technical oversight, and support production and field service incorporation. You will play a key role in driving technical improvements, refining processes, and mentoring team members to achieve organizational success.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, analysis, and evaluation of inlet and exhaust systems projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities and technical excellence.
  • Develop and execute module-level design strategies, including managing product and system requirements flowdown.
  • Contribute to innovation and technical advancements for product introduction, quality, performance, cost improvements, and problem resolution.
  • Provide leadership during design reviews and collaborate across teams to ensure alignment and integration.
  • Lead cross-functional teams with moderate resource requirements, communicating concepts and influencing technical decisions.
  • Present technical data to internal and external customers, providing updates to leadership on project status and significant issues.
  • Identify and solve technical problems, recommend best practices, and develop action plans to address challenges.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced team members, fostering technical growth and development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in inlet and exhaust systems design, with demonstrated contributions to module-level activities.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with experience analyzing and resolving technical challenges.
  • Experience leading projects with moderate scope and complexity.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques, including additive manufacturing, component manufacturing processes (such as assembly, fabrication, machining, and/or welding), and simulations (e.g., Finite Element Analysis or other modeling tools).
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring junior team members, fostering technical growth and leadership development.
  • Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work.

The base pay range for this position is 128,800.00 - 171,350.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on, September 7, 2026.
