Day-To-Day:

  • Manage calendars for executive leaders: schedule internal and external meetings, prioritize time against strategic priorities, resolve conflicts quickly.
  • Support preparation and logistics for onsite meetings, including coordinating meeting rooms, setting up presentations and technology, and arranging catering or other on‑site needs.
  • Support translating priorities into action by helping shape simple plans, timelines, and tracking methods.
  • Gain exposure to how teams set and manage roadmaps, with opportunities to assist in tracking initiatives and surfacing risks, dependencies, or decision points.
  • Plan and book domestic and international travel, including agendas, logistics, and briefing materials.
  • Ensure expense reports and purchase orders are completed accurately, within budget limits.
  • Support the annual and quarterly planning cycle (collecting inputs from team leads, consolidating plans, preparing planning meetings and materials).
  • Support coordinating cross-functional initiatives (aligning stakeholders, scheduling check-ins, chasing deliverables, keeping everyone informed).

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Highly proactive self‑starter who can take ownership of work, move quickly, and follow through with minimal direction.
  • Strong judgment and prioritization skills, with the ability to focus on the most critical, high‑impact work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Professional, discreet, and trusted when handling sensitive information.
  • Clear and adaptable communicator, comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders and leadership styles.
  • Organized and structured in approach, with a knack for bringing clarity and momentum to ambiguous situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with collaboration or project tools (e.g., Teams, Smartsheet, or similar) is a plus.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 2 years of professional experience

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
