About the Role

Join the International Centre for Point-of-Care Testing (ICPOCT), a globally recognised leader in point-of-care testing research, education and service innovation. As the Accreditation and Quality Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the First Nations Molecular Point-of-Care Testing Program by driving quality, accreditation readiness and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with quality, scientific and program leaders, you will help ensure compliance with national and international pathology and healthcare standards while contributing to improved health outcomes for First Nations communities and rural and remote populations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the development, review and maintenance of quality, accreditation and regulatory documentation to support compliance with NATA, ISO15189, NPAAC and other relevant standards.

  • Coordinating accreditation activities, audit preparation and corrective actions, working closely with the Quality Manager, Quality Committee and Scientific Lead.

  • Assisting in the coordination of quality management systems, risk assessments, policies, procedures and staff training records to support ongoing program quality and compliance.

  • Contributing to continuous improvement by supporting internal audits, compliance reporting, risk management, business continuity planning and quality improvement initiatives.

This position makes a significant contribution to the University’s strategic plan, Changing Lives, Every One Matters, by 2035 through directly contributing to the strategic driver of Research that Matters. By ensuring the highest standards of quality, accreditation and regulatory compliance within the First Nations Molecular Point-of-Care Testing Program, the role supports impactful research translation and improved healthcare outcomes for First Nations communities and rural and remote populations. This work strengthens the University’s commitment to delivering research with meaningful community impact and creating positive change where it is needed most.

About You

You are a detail-oriented quality and compliance professional with experience working within regulated healthcare, pathology, laboratory or research environments. You bring strong knowledge of accreditation and quality management systems, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to supporting continuous improvement. Passionate about making a meaningful impact, you thrive in a role where quality, compliance and operational excellence contribute to better health outcomes for diverse communities.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • A Bachelor of Medical Science or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, together with demonstrated experience in quality, compliance, accreditation or laboratory-based environments.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of pathology, laboratory and/or point-of-care testing standards, with the ability to interpret and apply regulatory and quality requirements.

  • Experience in developing and maintaining quality systems, risk assessments, policies and procedures, with exposure to audits and continuous improvement activities highly regarded.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams while fostering culturally respectful and inclusive practices.
