About 20/20 Onsite

20/20 Onsite is a leading provider of mobile and on-site delivery of vision and eye-related testing and assessment services in support of clinical trials. We serve pharmaceutical clients and trial participants nationwide through a unique mobile and on-site service delivery platform reaching participants near where they live or work.

We help sponsors and CROs keep decentralized and hybrid trials on schedule and within protocol — reducing participant dropout, closing enrollment gaps, and improving data quality by removing the time and distance barriers that keep patients from completing visits. That operational reliability, built on deep relationships with pharmaceutical companies, CROs, and trial sites, is what’s driving the shift toward decentralized and hybrid clinical trials.

About the Role:

The Accounting Manager will play a central role in operating and strengthening the accounting function during a period of continued growth and maturation. Working in close partnership with the Controller, this role is for someone who takes the time to understand existing processes, exercises sound judgment in evolving environments, and then thoughtfully improves structure, controls, and reliability over time.

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of accounting operations, month-end close, and own the invoicing process, while contributing to longer term improvements.

Customer Invoicing

  • Oversee and review coding and documentation for accuracy and proper scope of invoicing

Manage & Develop Accounting Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including AP, AR, and general ledger
  • Manage and actively develop the Staff Accountant, providing both quality oversight and hands-on skill-building over time
  • Assess resourcing needs over time and provide recommendations as the organization grows

Improve Structure and Process

  • Evaluate existing accounting processes and systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, and reliability
  • Accounting issues are identified early, resolved thoughtfully, and prevented from recurrence
  • Implement improvements in a deliberate, sequenced manner that supports business continuity
  • Partner with the Controller on reporting enhancements and future systems initiatives

Reporting and Financial Planning

  • Serve as a key accounting partner to cross-functional teams, including close collaboration on billing workflows, and shared reporting needs
  • Support audit readiness and compliance as the company matures
  • Assist the Controller with internal and external reporting as needed
  • Provide ad-hoc support on FP&A analyses and other finance initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Demonstrated ownership of month-end close processes
  • Experience managing or mentoring accounting resources
  • Comfort operating in a high-growth, evolving, early-stage environment with a wide range of responsibilities and that uses AI tools to support daily tasks and projects
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset; takes accountability for outcomes, self-directs priorities, and follows through without close supervision
  • QuickBooks or similar accounting systems experience preferred
  • Bill.com experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Life sciences or clinical research industry experience a plus, but not required
  • CPA a plus but not required
