The Accounting Manager will manage full-cycle accounting, prepare financial statements, perform reconciliations, aid in budgeting, and drive process improvements.
Position Overview
Our client, a growing company in Northeast Ohio, is seeking a hands-on accounting professional to join their team in a role just below the Controller level. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day accounting functions while contributing to process improvements and long-term growth within the organization.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working in the details of accounting while also being involved in improving systems and building scalable processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute full-cycle accounting processes including:
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- General Ledger (GL)
- Month-end and year-end close
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency
- Support audit preparation and collaborate with external accountants as needed
- Work closely with leadership to provide accurate and timely financial insights
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- 3–7 years of accounting experience (public or industry)
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
Preferred Experience
- Experience in small to mid-sized business environments
- Exposure to process improvement or system implementation
- Interest in growing into a Controller-level role over time
