The Account Manager will acts as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships by understanding their needs, addressing concerns, and ensuring they receive the best possible service from the company, often including identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products while monitoring account performance. The Account Manager will work with clients to create solutions for their needs and consult through the sales process. Must be energetic, well-spoken, and eager to close sales and increase revenue.
Job Description:
Account Manager Duties and Responsibilities
- Calling current customer base to engage on different products than currently owned
- Understanding client needs, workflows, and challenges
- Maintaining Salesforce with real time information
- Presenting and delivering information to customers
- Answering potential client questions and follow-up call questions
- Understanding ratios relating to call connect, connect to opportunity and call to deal
- Building pipelines with customers and team members to close sales
- Closing sales and working with client through closing process
- Client relationship building
- Internal collaboration with Marketing, Product, and Sales Leaders
- Negotiating contract and SOW terms and renewal agreements with clients
Account Manager Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Business/Management, Accounting, Agricultural Sciences discipline, or equivalent experience. Degree is not a requirement.
- Agribusiness sales technology background preferred
- Comfortable making cold calls and talking to new people all day
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect and interact with potential customers
- Persuasive and goal-oriented
- Possesses an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor
- Eager to expand company product footprint within accounts
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- In-depth understanding of company services and its position in the industry
- Tenacity to handle rejection and continue on with a positive attitude when reaching next potential client
- Knowledge of sales process from initiation to close
- Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
- Previous experience in account management, inside sales experience, or related sales experience preferred
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and Salesforce experience preferred
