RESPONSIBILITIES
The FBN Account Manager will be responsible for recruiting farmers and maintaining high grower satisfaction with FBN. They will also provide a seamless and highly differentiated crop input transaction experience while maintaining high grower sanctification with FBN from post-harvest conversations all the way to pre-season delivery. This includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:
- Client Relationship Development and Maintenance - build and nurture relationships with accounts in assigned pods, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. These accounts will typically be greater than 1,000 acres.
- Sales Growth and Revenue Generation - Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products, driving growth within existing accounts and acquiring new customers.
- Account Planning and Pod Strategy - develop account plans that align with customer needs and company goals, focusing on long-term Pod success.
- Coordinate with Team and Pod Members - work collaboratively with the pod team - sales, agronomists, logistics, CX, Marketing and Finance - to deliver seamless service.
- Monitor and Achieve KPI’s for assigned Pods - track and understand metrics for each account in assigned pod (utilize CRM for this important task).
- Customer Problem Resolution - serve as a primary point of contact for resolving issues swiftly and effectively, ensuring high customer retention rates.
- Market Updates - including, but not limited to - staying informed about local market trends, competitor activities, and new offerings in the market. Provide “Field Insight” to help develop Pod Strategies
- Training and Product Education - educate customers on product usage, benefits and new offerings to maximize value and foster loyalty.
- Reporting and Documentation - maintain detailed records of interactions, sales activities, account updates. Utilize CRM to accomplish these tasks.
- Work with qualified Community Builders to build a Revenue & Action Plan that defines the goals and sets expectations for the working relationship
- Recover Customers from “unqualified CB’s” and reattach to FBN
- Organize and manage sales events within the assigned Pods
- Represent FBN at various farm industry trade shows/events
- Track to Sales Revenue and Margin Goals for assigned Pods
- Other duties as assigned
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a heightened sensitivity to the issues farmers face.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience as a district, regional or territory manager selling products or services directly to farmers or through a dealer network; OR 5 years of experience in the absence of a degree
- Ability to adhere to the compliance of all legal and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of agriculture inputs required
- Strong domain experience and background in farming, production agriculture, retail or input sales.
- Candidates must be comfortable with technology and ideally the latest precision Ag Systems
- Background in Agronomy, including, but not limited to, the management and use of agronomic data.
- Ability to understand data and interpret KPIs
- Knowledge of Market Trends
- Proficiency in CRM and Digital Sales Tools
- Willingness to travel within the assigned pod as needed
- A farmer focus and a commitment to farmer satisfaction
- Ability to adhere to the compliance of all legal and safety procedures
- Strong planning, prioritization and organizational skills in addition to being highly motivated with a strong work ethic
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or advanced degree
- 5+ years sales experience in agriculture managing and exceeding monthly and annual quotas selling directly to farmers.
- Cross-functional experience working across the enterprise.
- Certified Crop Advisor or similar agronomy certification
- Sales or customer relationship management certification
- Digital Tools Certification
- Experience in agriculture managing and exceeding monthly and annual quotas selling directly to farmers
- Successful completion of safety training and DOT Hazmat certification course
- Multi-generational farm, or farm related background
- Experience balancing execution, agility and culture at a fast growing business
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Certified, or ability to be certified on equipment
- Ability to push and pull up to 75 lbs independently
- Ability to lift and carry load weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time, kneel, squat, reach, and grasp, etc. repetitively
- Ability to safely handle equipment used to physically move inventory
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)

The following represents FBN's reasonable estimate of the US national average base salary range for this role based on market data and placement of internal employees: $80,000-90,000. This salary range may vary based on geography and the higher cost of labor in some metropolitan areas.
