Renewals, Retention & Growth

  • Own renewal planning and execution for assigned accounts within standard pricing and guarantee frameworks
  • Prepare and deliver renewal materials, financial summaries, and client presentations
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance client value and address emerging needs
  • Maintain accountability for satisfaction, retention, and revenue performance, with Managing Director oversight and a disciplined, client-first approach

Financial Ownership

  • Manage account financial performance, including trend analysis, guarantees, and key pricing drivers
  • Translate financial and pharmacy benefit manager concepts into clear, client‑ready insights
  • Partner with underwriting and finance on renewal modeling and scenario analysis
  • Review non‑standard, higher‑risk, or sensitive financial decisions with the Managing Director

Data, Analytics & Tools

  • Use analytics platforms and AI‑enabled tools to monitor performance, identify risks or opportunities, and generate actionable client insights
  • Ensure accurate, timely reporting and client deliverables
  • Improve account effectiveness through disciplined use of tools, automation, and standard processes

Market Awareness

  • Maintain working knowledge of pharmacy benefit manager, managed care, and healthcare market developments
  • Apply regulatory, clinical, and market insights to client discussions and renewal planning

Client Segment & Scope

AE‑owned accounts typically include mid‑market employers and coalition clients with:

  • Standard or moderately complex benefit designs
  • Moderate financial and operational complexity
  • Limited regulatory, labor, or governance requirements

  • Sound financial management and decision making, informed by data and analytics
  • Clear, professional client communication supported by timely, insight‑driven materials

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare, sales, or account management
  • Client‑facing experience with employer or coalition accounts
  • Experience managing renewals, financial discussions, and client deliverables
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, including the ability to leverage data and AI‑enabled tools for decision making
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver’s license

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
